- SOUNCARD.DOC help file
-
- The SOUNCARD.DK file is intended for users who are using Band-in-a-Box
- with a sound card that has a TAPI or SAPI driver (supplied with your
- sound card or available from PG Music ). This driver lets you use your
- sound card as a General MIDI compatible synthesizer .
-
- The sound card drivers require Drum Channel=16 (not 10) and
- a patch change of 127 on the Main Screen.
-
- If you have an older SAPI or TAPI driver (before March 1992) it will
- be using MT32 and you should load in the file SCARD_MT instead so
- that the patch maps will follow the MT32.
-
- If drums don't sound try changing Drum Channel from 16 to 10 or vice
- versa .
-
-
- EXAMPLE : SOUNDBLASTER FM USERS
- FIND TAPISB.COM driver (probably included on this disk)
- either
- 1. run TAPISB.COM then run BB .
- or 2. type BBSB
- (This runs a batch file BBSB.BAT which runs the driver
- and then runs BB for you )
- 3. Press S at the welcome screen inside BB
- Select TAPI as your interface Port 1=MIDI port 2=Sound Card
- ( don't select SoundBlaster MIDI , you will get better results
- by choosing the TAPI driver which supports sound card and MIDI
-
- 4. remember that the Sound Card wants Drum Channel=16 Patch =127 .
- 5. If patches don't match up try the SCard_MT.DK which uses MT32
- mapping instead of General Midi mapping . ( Older drivers before
- Mar 92 used the MT32 Mapping )
