- CT470.DK Help File
-
- Loading in the file CT470.DK will setup Band-in-a-Box for the Casio CT470
- keyboard in Multi-Timbral Mode (Mode B).In Mode B the CT470 can receive 4
- different instruments at a time(with 12 note polyphony amongst them). Being
- that Band-in-a-Box has some 5 instrument styles, the CT470 will be unable to
- play Guitar and String parts from such styles. The polyphony of each channel
- refers to the amount of notes that channel will be able to receive in total.
- In Mode B, the polyphony of each channel is; Channel 1 = 6 notes, Channel 2
- = 4 notes, Channel 3 = 2 notes, and Channel 4 = 4 notes. If any notes get
- 'cutoff' during a Band-in-a-Box session, the polyphony of each channel
- could give some problems.
-
- The CT470.DK file will setup:
- 1. Drum #'s for the Casio CT470.
- 2. General Midi Patch Map (assigned to factory settings of the C470).
- 3. Startup Patches and Channels in the Midi Settings Window.
-
- To setup your CT470 do the following:
-
- - Ensure that ACCOMP VOLUME is turned UP
-
- - Set the dial used to turn the CT470 on to MIDI (for Multi Voice Mode)
-
- - Press the ORCHESTRATION buttons:Chord1,Chord2,Obligato,and Auto Harmonize
-
- - These four buttons correspond to MIDI channels 1-4
-
- - Midi Channel 1 will be dedicated to Piano,2 to Melody,3 to Bass and 4 to
- Drums
- - Press the Auto Harmonize button to ensure that the SELECT button shows
- the bottom red light is on so it will be setup to play DRUMS.
- Please note: DO NOT SEND PATCH CHANGES ON THE DRUMS FROM BAND-IN-A-BOX!
- Doing so will result in a pitched instrument receiving what are intended to
- be DRUMS.Also make sure that in the Midi Settings window in Band-in-a-Box
- that Output Sync/Start info is 'N' for NO or else you'll hear your CT470's
- Multi-Accompaniment System start to go.
-
- Ensure that the MIDI OUT of your computer is going to the MIDI IN of your
- synth and vice versa. Now load CT470.DK under the MIDI pulldown menu
- (Load Alternate Drum/Midi Set). That should be all that need be done to allow
- Band-in-a-Box to "talk" with your CT470. If by any chance we haven't covered
- everything on your particular synth, please consult your owners manual.
-
- Have Fun!
