- Installation (using menu)
- -------------------------

- To get connected to the Internet with NetDirect, you must first
- install Internet Explorer on your PC. You should do this by
- selecting the appropriate option on the menu for the CD that came
- with this issue of .net magazine, or by following the instructions
- at the end of this information.

- Registration
- ------------

- To register for the Free Trial enter a username of 'register' and
- a password of 'register' to log on. Enter a Web Page address (URL)
- of http://register.netdirect.net.uk in the Internet Explorer
- 'Address' box.

- You will need to complete your details on the Registration form.
- The registration code is NET0998. A Credit or Debit Card is required
- to participate in the Free Trial. (You may also subscribe using a
- cheque/postal order and Standing Order, or over the phone (by Credit
- Card), but will not be able to take part in the free trial.)

- Cancellations must be received in writing (by email, fax or letter)
- before the end of the 30 day free trial or you will be automatically
- charged for a full Quarterly subscription (stlg32.50 +VAT) on your
- Credit Card.

- Installation of Free Trial Software
- -----------------------------------

- If you do not wish to install the Free Trial software from the menu
- on the .net CD then you can install it as follows:

- 1. Windows 98
-
- If you are running Windows 98 (or Windows 95 and already have
- Internet Explorer 4 installed) then you can configure your
- computer to dial NetDirect by running 'dun.bat' in the NetDirect
- directory on the CD. This will configure Dial Up Networking.

- 2. Windows 95 (Internet Explorer 4 NOT installed)
-
- Run 'iesetup.exe' which may be found in the NetDirect directory on
- this CD.

- 3. Windows 95 (Internet Explorer 4 IS installed)
-
- Please follow the Windows 98 instructions above.

- 4. Windows 3.1
-
- Run 'setup.exe' which may be found in the WIN31\ENG\PACKAGES
- directory that is located in the NetDirect directory on this CD.
