  1. There are currently patches for Class(y) 2.0, ProVision:Windows, and
  2. ProVision:Backup included for ExoSpace compatibility.  Please refer
  3. to the section for each product.
  4.  
  5. Remember to make backup copies of any files you are patching, just in
  6. case something goes seriously wrong with the patch process.
  7.

  12. Class(y)
  13. --------
  14.  
  15. CLASSYX.EXE will patch either Class(y) 2.0a or 2.0b and create a 
  16. library called CLASSYX.LIB, which is compatible with protected mode. 
  17.  
  18. Instructions:
  19.  
  20.     1.  Copy CLASSY.LIB to CLASSYX.LIB.  DO NOT simply rename
  21.         CLASSY.LIB because CLASSYX.LIB does not work well in real
  22.         mode.

  24.     2.  Execute CLASSYX.EXE.  If you have Class(y) 2.0b then you will
  25.         see the message "Source file is incorrect version" one time. 
  26.         You can safely ignore this.
  27.  
  28.     3.  After running CLASSYX.EXE, you should have two files: 
  29.         CLASSYX.LIB and CLASSYX.LI$.  You can safely delete
  30.         CLASSYX.LI$, as it is the unpatched file.

  33. ProVision:Windows
  34. -----------------
  35.  
  36. The ProVision:Windows patches patch the Class(y) 2 versions of version 1.24.
  37. If you did not install them, the 5.2 libraries are on the distribution disk 
  38. in the \lib\classy20 directory, in a self-extracting archive, and the patch
  39. to create the 5.01a compatible libs is in \501\lib\classy20.  Once you have
  40. created the appropriate libs, follow the instructions below.

  42. Instructions:
  43.  
  44.     1.  Copy PWFUNCS.LIB to PWFUNCX.LIB and PWKERNEL.LIB to
  45.         PWKERNX.LIB.  DO NOT simply rename them because they will not
  46.         work in real mode.  Make sure to copy the Class(y) 2.0 version
  47.         of the libraries.

  49.     2.  If you are using Clipper 5.01a, execute PW501X2.EXE.  If you
  50.         are using Clipper 5.20a, execute PW520X2.EXE.  If you see the
  51.         message "source file is incorrect version," you need to verify
  52.         that you are using the correct libraries.  This patch file
  53.         only works on the Class(y) 2.0-compatible v1.24 libraries.

  55.     3.  After running the executable, you should have four files:
  56.         PWFUNCX.LIB, PWKERNX.LIB, PWFUNCX.LI$ and PWKERNX.LI$.  The
  57.         .LI$ files are the unpatched files and may be safely deleted.

  60. ProVision:Backup
  61. ----------------
  62.  
  63. PB102.ZIP contains a patch file to create v1.02 of ProVision:Backup. 
  64. There is also a replacement module, _BKERNX.OBJ, to make
  65. ProVision:Backup compatible with ExoSpace.  The PB102.DOC file
  66. contained in PB102.ZIP has more information and tells how to use
  67. ProVision:Backup with ExoSpace.

  69. PB102.EXE contained in PB102.ZIP will patch ProVision:Backup v1.01a
  70. and create new versions of PBCLIP50.LIB, PBCLIP87.LIB, PBFUNCS.LIB,
  71. and PBKERNEL.LIB.

  73. Instructions:

  75.     1.  Copy PB102.EXE to the directory containing your
  76.         ProVision:Backup libraries.  You will use the same versions of
  77.         the libraries for both normal CA-Clipper and ExoSpace.

  79.     2.  Execute PB102.EXE.  If you do not have ProVision:Backup
  80.         v1.01a, you will see the message "Source file is incorrect
  81.         version."  The SofDesign BBS (214-234-1732) has a file to
  82.         create v1.01a from the shipped version.

  84.     3.  After running PB102.EXE, you should have eight files:  the
  85.         four original .LIB files and four .LI$ files.  You can safely
  86.         delete the LI$ files, as they are the unpatched files.
