  39.    Sprint Internet Passport 3.01 software is being distributed for
  40.    both Windows 3.x and Windows 95 operating systems.

  43.    you MUST use the Windows 3.x program even if you have Win32s

  46. * The Netscape Audio Plug-in will only work if you have a sound
  47.   card installed and configured properly.  It will not work

  105.               Information about the Quicktime Plug-in

  109. This part describes what you will need and how to use the
  110. Windows version of Apple's QuickTime plug-ins for Sprint Internet
  111. Passport 3.01.
  112.  
  113. WHAT THE QUICKTIME PLUG-IN DOES:
  114.  
  115. Apple's QuickTime plug-in for Sprint Internet Passport 3.01 or
  116. later lets you experience QuickTime content directly in the
  117. Navigator browser window. You no longer need a "helper
  118. application" like MoviePlayer to view QuickTime content with
  119. Navigator 3.01. You can also view QuickTime VR Panoramas and
  120. Objects inline, after downloading the QuickTime VR component
  121. from Apple.

  123. The QuickTime plug-in works with existing QuickTime movies,
  124. and with movies prepared to take advantage of the plug-in's
  125. "fast start" feature. The "fast start" feature will present
  126. the first frame of the movie almost immediately and can
  127. begin playing even before the movie has been completely
  128. downloaded. The "fast start" feature saves you time waiting
  129. for the entire movie to download, but otherwise plays just
  130. like regular QuickTime movie.

  132. Sprint Internet Passport software will use the QuickTime 
  133. plug-in automatically to play any QuickTime movie while
  134. browsing the internet.  The plug-in can play many kinds of
  135. QuickTime movies (.mov files) including movies with text,
  136. MIDI, and other kinds of data. If you have downloaded and
  137. installed the QuickTime VR component, it will also let you
  138. interact with QuickTime VR Panoramas and Objects.

  152. The PC files are in ZIP format and you will need a utility
  153. such as pkunzip to extract the software.

  156. If you would like to view QuickTime VR (Virtual Reality)
  157. Panoramas and Objects using the QuickTime plug-in, you will
  158. need the QTVR library for Windows (QTVRW.QTC). The QTVR 
  159. software is *not* included with Sprint Internet Passport 3.01, 
  160. but you can download them from either the Apple QuickTime VR
  161. site (http://qtvr.quicktime.apple.com) or the QuickTime
  162. Software page (http://quicktime.apple.com).

  164. On Windows, the QTVRW.QTC file must be in the WINDOWS
  165. directory of your primary drive.

  174. Sprint Internet Passport 3.01 includes the QuickTime plug-in.
  175. When you run the browser, the plug-in will be ready to use.

  177. If you are downloading the QuickTime plug-in or the
  178. QuickTime VR components for the plug-in from Apple's web
  179. site, you must quit the browser application and move the
  180. software to the appropriate location (see above).  When you
  181. relaunch browser, the plug-in will be loaded and ready to use.

  198. Q: I am running Windows '95. I installed the QuickTime VR
  199. software (QTVRW.QTC) in my WINDOWS directory, and rebooted.
  200. But When I run Navigator with the QuickTime VR component,
  201. I can't view QuickTime VR Panoramas and Objects.
  202. A: Currently there is only a Windows 3.x version of the
  203. QuickTime VR software for Windows. The Windows 3.x version
  204. will not work with a Windows '95 version of Sprint Internet
  205. Passport software. If you would like to use the QuickTime VR
  206. software, you will have to download and use the Windows 3.1
  207. version of QuickTime VR.  The software is available at:

  211. Q: I downloaded Sprint Internet Passport 3.01, but the QuickTime
  212. plug-in doesn't seem to be working.
  213. A: Navigator 3.01 lets you pick plug-ins for different types
  214. of content, just like you pick helper apps. You may need to
  215. pick the QuickTime plug-in in the Navigator
  216. "Options/Helpers" dialog to make the QuickTime plug-in work.

  218. Q: I am using a Web browser other than
  219. Sprint Internet Passport 3.01 or Netscape Navigator
  220. 3.01 and I am experiencing problems with the QuickTime
  221. plug-in.
  222. A: Currently, the QuickTime plug-in only supports
  223. Sprint Internet Passport 3.01 or Netscape Navigator 3.01
  224. or later.

  226. Q: I am browsing a page with a QuickTime VR panorama and
  227. expect that I can use the option and control (shift and
  228. control on Windows) to zoom in/zoom out of the movie.
  229. Likewise, with a regular QuickTime movie, I expect the arrow
  230. keys to step through the movie a frame at a time. But the
  231. movies don't seem to respond to keystrokes.
  232. A: You need to select the QuickTime VR panaroma or QuickTime
  233. movie first by clicking on it. On Windows, the arrow keys do
  234. not work.

  236. Q. I'd like to save some of the movies to my hard drive. How
  237. do I do this?
  238. A. You can click on the movie and press Command-S on the
  239. Macintosh or Control-S on the PC to bring up a "save"
  240. dialogue. However, this will not work for QuickTime VR
  241. movies. To save QuickTime VR movies go to the Navigator 3.01
  242. menu, select Options/General Preferences/Helpers, then
  243. select QuickTime from the list and choose Edit. At this
  244. point, you'll be presented with a few options, all will work
  245. for saving QuickTime VR files.
