  10. The following information is intended to be used as an addendum to the Help files 
  11. provided with this version of RapidComm Voice.

  13. On-line documentation
  14. ---------------------
  15. To access the on-line documentation, run RapidComm Voice, pull down the Help 
  16. menu and select Contents.
  17.  
  18. Changes:
  19. --------
  20.  
  21. *   If you find that your system has trouble dialing
  22.     when it is about to make a call to your pager, you
  23.     can change the entry in the QLMCW.CFG file in the
  24.     [Setup Options] section that will cause a delay
  25.     before the pager dialing occurs.   The number is
  26.     in seconds.

  30. Warnings:
  31. ---------
  32.  
  33. *   If you are using the SPEAKER.DRV driver to play wave sounds through
  34.     your PC speaker, then you MUST be sure that the speaker driver is
  35.     set to allow interrupts during playback.   If the interrupts are
  36.     not enabled during playback, then the modem may fail to maintain 
  37.     the phone connection during a local operator page.  To check on 
  38.     the setting, open the Control Panel, select "Drivers", then
  39.     select "Sound Driver for PC Speaker".   If the "Sound Driver
  40.     for PC Speaker" is absent, then you do not have to be concerned.
  41.     If the "Sound Driver for PC Speaker" is present, then select it
  42.     and then press the "Setup..." button.   In the dialog, make sure
  43.     that the "Enable interrupts during playback" checkbox is checked.

  45. *   If you switch fax classes, make sure to exit out and restart 
  46.     RapidComm Voice.
  47.  
  48. *   When sending faxes with attachments, keep in mind the size of the 
  49.     attachment.  The larger the size of the attachment, the longer it 
  50.     will take to send the fax.

  53. Mail/Log Information:
  54. --------------------
  55.  
  56. *   The voice file which specifies the mailboxes available for access 
  57.     is called 'MAINMAIL.GSM' and can be played or recorded only
  58.     in multiple mailbox mode by pressing the 'Microphone' button 
  59.     on the Message Counter view, or selecting 'System Voice Files'
  60.     option under the Voice menu in the Log Manager.
  61.  
  62. *   The first greeting played when the system is accessed in multiple
  63.     mailbox mode is MAINMAIL.GSM and in single mailbox mode is
  64.     the primary or secondary greeting as selected in the InBox mailbox.
  65.  
  66. *   The default message length is 60 seconds.
  67.  
  68. *   If you have RapidComm Voice mainapp running with the Mail/Log Manager open,
  69.     closing the mainapp will not close the Mail/Log Manager.

  72. Changing the Fax Resolution:
  73. ---------------------------
  74. *   When sending a fax with the RapidComm Voice printer driver, the fax 
  75.     resolution is changed in the Printer's Properties.  This will vary
  76.     depending upon the application used. From most applications it is 
  77.     accessed by selecting Print, and the Properties button.

  80. 3 Way Call Discrimination:
  81. --------------------------

  83. *   RapidComm Voice can be forced to receive data calls while in Voice
  84.     mode by entering a "*" when Main greeting, Mailbox greeting is in progress.
  85.  
  86.     To enable this option set the Answer Mode in the Preferences Setup dialog box to
  87.     Voice, Fax and Data.  Enable the "Start Host on all Data calls" checkbox in the
  88.     Preferences Setup dialog.  Then in the Mailbox options dialog box in the 
  89.     Log Managere, enable the Receive data by clicking on its checkbox.
  90.  
  91.     To initiate a data call, the caller must add a ",,,,,*,*" to the dial string.

  93.     The caller can also initiate a data call by dialing from a handset then enter the
  94.     mailbox number then "*".  Then issue "ATX0DT" command in the terminal and put
  95.     the handset on hook.

  98. Clarifications:
  99. ---------------

  101. *   You will be prompted to enter the password for access to the 
  102.     private functions of a mailbox when accessing the system from remote
  103.     only if the "Enable password" option is checked in the particular
  104.     mailbox's setup dialog.  To reach these private functions from a 
  105.     mailbox, press '9'.
  106.  
  107. *   If you have an older version of QuickLink MessageCenter installed, RapidComm Voice
  108.     will automatically import your old phone book.
