- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 59. Help for PIF and Metafile format ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
-
- Metafile and PIF (Picture Interchange Format) are two ways of creating files
- in which pictures are stored. The files are created by graphics applications,
- and contain the graphics orders needed to recreate the picture. Although they
- each contain the information to create a picture the form in which the
- information is stored is different for the two file types. Metafiles and PIFs
- can each be reused by the application that created them and and by applications
- which recognise the same format. If you want to use Metafiles with an
- application which requires PIF format the file has to be translated and vice
- versa.
-
- Presentation Manager creates files in Metafile format and the Picture Utilities
- automatically try to translate files with a PIF extension to this format.
