  1. Readme file for OS/2 Utilities Installation
  2. Netware Requester for OS/2 v1.3   
  3. For workstations running OS/2    
  4. March 1991

  7. After the manual was printed, the procedure for installing utilities
  8. was simplified.  Substitute this procedure for the one found in the 
  9. section "Install NetWare utilities for OS/2 on the file server" on 
  10. pages 6 and 7 of the manual.

  12.  
  13. To install NetWare utilities for OS/2 on the file server, do the
  14. following:
  15.  
  16. NOTE:  Beginning with Step 5, this procedure is significantly different from 
  17. the one in the manual. 
  18.  
  19. 1.  Boot the workstation if necessary.
  20.  
  21. 2.  Double-click on "Main" in the Desktop Manager window.
  22.  
  23. 3.  Double-click on "OS/2 Full Screen" in the Group-Main window. 
  24.     A prompt similar to the following appears:

  26.              [C:\]
  27.  
  28. 4.  Insert the OS2UTIL-1 diskette into drive A.  
  29.  
  30. 5.  Login to the server on which you want to install the NetWare
  31.     utilities for OS/2 by typing a command similar to the following and
  32.     entering the Supervisor password:   
  33.  
  34.              A:\LOGIN\LOGIN server_name\SUPERVISOR   <Enter>
  35.  
  36.     Replace server_name with the appropriate file server name. 
  37.     For example, if the name of the server were "trailhead," you would
  38.     type the following:
  39.  
  40.              A:\LOGIN\LOGIN TRAILHEAD\SUPERVISOR   <Enter>
  41.  
  42. 6.  When the OS/2 prompt returns, change to the A drive containing
  43.     the OS2UTIL-1 diskette and type the following (again replacing 
  44.     server_name with the name of your server): 
  45.  
  46.              SERVINST server_name  <Enter>
  47.  
  48.     At this point, the installation procedure will create three
  49.     directories:  SYS:LOGIN/OS2, SYS:SYSTEM/OS2, and SYS:PUBLIC/OS2.
  50.  
  51. 7.  Follow the prompts until you receive a message saying the installation
  52.     is complete.  Note that the procedure uses the OS/2 ATTRIB command to 
  53.     flag all the utilities Read only. 
  54.  
  55. 8.  Use the SYSCON utility to add the following mapping to the system 
  56.     login script to provide access to the OS/2 utilities for anyone who 
  57.     uses OS/2 workstations on the server:
