  25. To install this program unzip all files to some directory on hard
  26. disk or floppy and run setup which will install program for you.
  27. This program is shareware and may be copied freely for evaluation purposes.
  28. It can be used for 30 days for evaluation. It must be registered after that
  29. time. 
  30. Unregistered version has limit on file size it can split and number of split
  31. runs. Registered users will receive unique access code which unlocks
  32. its full capabilities . The access code will work for future versions.
  33. When splitting files to floppy disk registered version copies automatically
  34. MSDOS program MERGE.EXE to the last disk. MERGE.EXE is freeware it can be 
  35. distributed freely. 
  36. If you need pass disks with divided files you can pass program MERGE.EXE 
  37. with them.

  39. SplitWin is a utility for splitting big files into parts and then
  40. merging them back in the Windows 95 environment.
  41. The purpose of this program is to split big files into smaller chunks 
  42. or merge chunks back to original file. This can be useful, when coping 
  43. big files to floppy diskettes, or transferring files via e-mail. 
  44. Each of the chunks has header containing information on name of the 
  45. original file, the size, the number of parts file was cut into and which 
  46. part it is. This eliminates errors that occur with the existing programs
  47. that divide big files.
  48. If the original file name is Eg  MYFILE.ABC  then the chunks will have names 
  49. MYFILE.Z00, MYFILE.Z01,..., MYFILE.Z0n

  51. What New in this version:

  53. Free format support added when copying to floppy disks. Have you had bunch 
  54. of floppies, which some where 2DD, some 2HD, same had some files you preferred 
  55. not to remove or their size was less than standard 720k or 1.44M, because 
  56. they had bad sectors?
  57. Good News, Yes with this version this is possible. SplitWin will check the
  58. free space on floppy and write as much as is free on floppy disk. 
  59. Sounds good?  Check "Try to fill to maximum when copying to floppy disk" 
  60. check box in Split Dialog to get that.

  62. Usage:

  64. Drag the file (you desire to split/merge) from the windows explorer or 
  65. file manager window and drop it over the SplitWin Icon or client area, 
  66. or use push buttons, or menu commands. 
  67. The first time activated SplitWin runs not minimised, but if you prefer 
  68. it to run minimised you can check "run minimised" and the next time activated,
  69. it will run minimised.

  71. Splitwin is shareware. This copy can be used only for 30 trial days.
  72. If you want use program after that period, you should register.
  73. This program is written in C++.

  79. dollars for the amount A$ 15.00) for Australian users it can be personal
  80. cheque or money order.

  82. or US$ 10.00 (cash or equivalent amount in exchangeable currency, fee for 
  83. cashing US personal cheques is so high that is why so big difference, 
  84. anyway risk of loss when sending such small cash via mail is minimal).
  85. A site licence is A$130.00 - unlimited number of machines.

  87. If access code is to be send via air mail on floppy disk add extra 4A$
  88. or 4$ respectively for postage.
  89. There are also available MSDOS and UNIX and Windows NT/95 command mode 
  90. versions compatible with SplitWin which can be obtained for extra 5A$ 
  91. or 4$ (split.com  for MSDOS, and C source of splitu and mergeu for UNIX,
  92. split32.exe for Windows NT/95, it can be useful to transfer 
  93. big files between UNIX and MSDOS/WINDOWS on floppy disks). 
  94. The programs can be send via e-mail or on floppy by air mail, 
  95. please state which you prefer, and which format of binary encoding to use, 
  96. when sending via e-mail (uuencode, MIME, binhex).

  103. Differences between demo version and registered version.
  104. 1. The demo version can split files only 30 times, the merge of splited file
  105. will always work.
  106. 2. The demo version has limit on size of file which can be divided (4,000,000
  107. bytes).
