- Setup: - The first two selections are available for only the AT
- type computers with CMOS memory.
-
-
- Date / Time: ( Manual Page 15 )
-
- From this selection, you may set the date and time used by
- the CMOS Clock/Calendar. Press F2 to select Time, F3 to select
- Date. The Right and Left Arrow keys are used to select the field
- (hour, minute, second for time; month, day, year for date). Type
- in the correct values and press the Enter key to change the
- values. If you wish to leave the values unchanged, type Esc
- instead of Enter when in one of the fields. After you have
- changed the date and time to correct values, press Esc to return
- to the menu.

-
- CMOS Edit: ( Manual Page 17 )
-
- CMOS Edit permits you to change the information stored that
- is used to determine your hardware configuration when the
- computer is booted. A menu of selections is presented.
-
-
- Date/Time: ( Manual Page 15 )
-
- This selection is the same as Date/Time from the Setup menu.
-
-
- Hard Disk (C and D): ( Manual Page 18 )
-
- These two selections allow you to specify what type of
- disk(s) are attached to your computer. Each refers to a physical
- hard disk. If you only have one actual disk drive that is
- partitioned into more than one logical drive, use the setup only
- for hard drive C. See Appendix D of the user's guide to help
- determine what type your disk is. If you are using a hard disk
- driver, such as SpeedStor or DMDrvr, the actual disk
- configuration may be determined from the driver at boot time
- rather than from the table. In that event, see the documentation
- from the hard disk manufacturer to determine which drive type you
- should use.
-
-
- Floppy Disk (A and B): ( Manual Page 21 )
-
- These permit you to specify which floppy disk drives are
- attached to your computer. The choices are (5-1/4 floppy disk
- drives) 360K or 1.2M, (3-1/2 floppy disk drives) 720K or 1.44M.
-
-
- Base Memory: ( Manual Page 23 )
-
- After selecting this item, type in the amount of base memory
- (up to 640K) your computer has. If your computer is an 80286 or
- 80386 and you have more than 640K, specify the remainder as
- Extended memory. E.g. if you have 1 megabyte of memory (1024K),
- specify 640K as base memory and 384K as extended memory.
-
-
- Extended Memory: ( Manual Page 24 )
-
- If your computer is an 80286 or 80386, specify the amount of
- memory in excess of 640K your computer has. See base memory
- above for an example.
-
-
- Video Selection: ( Manual Page 24 )
-
- This will determine the default display characteristics when
- your computer is booted. As appropriate, select Monochrome, (MDA
- or MGA adapter), Color 80 or Color 40 (CGA), or EGA/VGA.
-
-
-
-
-
- Error Halt: ( Manual Page 25 )
-
- This determines the action taken by your computer when it
- discovers an error during booting. The normal selection is Halt
- on All Errors, which will cause a message to be displayed and
- request an action from you (normally press F1 to continue) during
- the boot process if any error is detected.
-
-
- Done, Exit & Reboot: ( Manual Page 22 )
-
- After you havel completed editing the CMOS setup, select this
- menu item and you will be presented with a choice of Quit or
- Update. If you do not wish to put your new changes in effect,
- choose Quit. If you do wish to update the CMOS setup, press
- Update. Your computer will then reboot to place the CMOS changes
- into effect.
-
-
-
- Sound Change: ( Manual Page 26 )
-
- Select Sound On (beeps on error) or Sound Off.
-
-
- Color Change: ( Manual Page 27 )
-
- Select Color On or Color Off (Monochrome).
-
-
- Monitor Change: ( Manual Page 27 )
-
- If you have more than one monitor attached, you may select
- either one from this menu. If you have only one monitor, you
- will receive a message to that effect as no selection is
- possible.
