  18. 1. Unable to install or unable to run the software.
  19.    System crashed after running the software.

  21.   A. Try DOS COMMAND CHKDSK with /F flag to check hard disk status.
  22.   B. Unfragment your hard disk.
  23.   C. You need 5MB of hard disk space to install this software.
  24.   D. You need 4MB of system memory to run this software.
  25.   E. Increase the windows's virtual memory size to at least 8MB.
  26.   F. This software can only run under windows 386 enhanced mode.
  27.      You can use win /3 command to force the windows to enter the 386
  28.      enhanced mode.
  29.      You need HIMEM.SYS file in your DOS CONFIG.SYS.
  30.   G. Scan virus.
  31.   H. Leave at least 540KB DOS memory before entering windows.
  32.   I. Use SET TEMP=\TEMP command to set you temporary IO directory.
  33.   J. If your system memory is less than 8MB, please do not use more than
  34.      512KB memory for drive cache (e.g. smartdrv.exe).
  35.   K. Try DOS COMMAND MEM with /C flag to check your DOS memory usage.
  36.   L. Please do not use any hard disk double space software, unless that
  37.      double space software was certified by microsoft.
  38.   M. Use latest version of MSCDEX.EXE.

  58.      If you install your multimedia kit correctly, you will find the

  66.   B. Did you connect your CD Audio cable to your sound card correctly?
  67.   C. Is your CD-ROM drive or sound card MPC compatible.

  69.      (Typically DMA Channel or Interrupt conflict).

  71.   E. 8 bits sound card can not play 16 bits wave form.

  76.      You can type D:\RUNTIME\SETUP.EXE to install runtime version of Video for Windows.

  82.   A. Enlarge your MCI sound driver buffer to 9 seconds.
  83.      You can find MCI sound driver in control panel item Drivers.
  84.   B. Enlarge your MSCDEX.EXE /M flag to 16 or 20.
  85.   C. Enlarge your windows forground ticks in control panel item 386 Enhanced.
  86.   D. Get rid of screen saver software.

  88. 5. Video keeps skipping frames.

  90.   A. Is you CD-ROM drive MPC compatible?
  91.   B. Does your CD-ROM drive have transfer rate of more than 150KB/SECONDS.
  92.   C. Enlarge your MSCDEX.EXE /M flag to 16.
  93.   D. Update your display card driver to newest version.
  94.   E. If you use a slow machine like 386SX, trying not to move the mouse
  95.      will also increase the video performance.

  98. 6. Screen pictures will flicker (changing palettes).

  100.   A. You need a display card which can show at least 256 colors.
  101.   B. If you have Hi-color or True-color display cards, please set the display
  102.      mode to 32,768 color mode.
  103.   C. Some display cards (like Trident 8900) will cause flickering in 256
  104.      color mode.
  105.   D. Update your display card driver.
