  1. < Installing the NetWare V3.1x drivers>

  3. The following introduces how to install driver modules, NV31XBMP.DSK, for
  4. NetWare v3.11/3.12/SFT-III:
  5. First copy the two files, NV31XBMP.DSK and ASPITRAN.DSK, from the NetWare
  6. driver diskette that comes with your DC-390 to the directory where the server
  7. program resides.
  8. After booting up the NetWare operating system, load the DC-390 driver by typing
  9. at the prompt
  10.     :load nv31xbmp <Return>
  11.  
  12. ASPITRAN.DSK will be automatically loaded with messages like the following:
  13.  
  14.   Loading module NV31XBMP.DSK
  15.     DC-390 PCI SCSI Adapter Driver For NetWare V3.11/3.12/SFT-III
  16.     Version 1.51    April 24, 1995
  17.     Auto-loading module ASPITRAN.DSK
  18.     Tekram SCSI Adapter NetWare 386 ASPI Transport Layer
  19.     Version 1.51    April 24, 1995
  20.   Supported Slot values are 9
  21.   Slot = 9 (note: this slot number is SLOT and MAINBOARD dependent)

  23. Write down this slot number for later use and press <Enter> to proceed:
  24.  
  25.     DC-390: BUS#00 DEV#09 FUN#0
  26.     Adapter SCSI ID : 7
  27.     I/O Port Address        : D000h
  28.     Interrupt Level : 11
  29.  
  30. To simplify the booting procedure thereafter, you may want to edit STARTUP.NCF
  31. file by modifying the line:
  32.   LOAD NV31XBMP port=FC00 int=A
  33.     to =>
  34.   LOAD NV31XBMP SLOT=X      (note: use the slot number you just wrote down)
  35.  
  36. Replace the 'X' with 9 for the current example. Refer to the NetWare manual for
  37. the procedure to edit this STARTUP.NCF file.
  38.  
  39. In case that two or more DC-390s are present, you have to load the same driver
  40. by typing "load NV31XBMP" as many times as the number of DC-390 adapters
  41. installed.
  42.
