  5. To install Graphic Workshop for Windows on your hard drive:
  6.  
  7.     1. If you have received Graphic Workshop in an archive, such as 
  8.        a ZIP file, place the contents of the archive on a high density  
  9.        floppy disk. If you have received Graphic Workshop on a floppy 
  10.        floppy directly from Alchemy Mindworks, this has already been 
  11.        done for you.
  12.     2. Place the disk in a floppy drive of your computer.
  13.     3. Open the File menu of the Windows program manager and select Run.
  14.     4. In the Run dialog box, type A:SETUP or B:SETUP, as is appropriate.
  15.     5. Follow the installer instructions... the Setup application will 
  16.        prompt you as required.

  24. Graphic Workshop for Windows requires Windows 3.1 or better. A minimum of four
  25. megabytes of memory is recommended. Note that if you have four megabytes in your
  26. system, but a large part of it is tied up in a RAM disk, a disk cache, as EMS or
  27. in some other form which Windows cannot address it, Graphic Workshop may be unable
  28. to run.

  32. NOTES FOR THIS RELEASE
  33.  
  34. This version of Graphic Workshop requires Video for Windows 1.1 or better for 
  35. its AVI file functions. Version 1.0 will not work. If you encounter error 
  36. messages upon attempting to use the AVI functions, you need a Video for Windows 
  37. upgrade. As of this writing, the registered version of Graphic Workshop for 
  38. Windows includes the runtime version of Video for Windows 1.1. This is subject to
  39. change without notice.

  43. - Added ICO, CLP and AVI support
  44. - Fixed a few problems with the JPEG functions
  45. - Added WMF, FLC and FLI support
  46. - Added the Multimedia Browser application to preview multimedia data files.
  47. - Graphic Workshop now supports high colour PIC files.
  48. - Treu colour graphics can be written to the IFF format.
  49. - Added file destination, renaming and underbar options.
  50. - Added Windows EXE pictures.
  51. - Added HRZ file support.
  52. - Added 256-colour dithering to the view mode.
  53. - Added LZW and Group 4 TIFF support.
  54. - Added display gamma adjustment.

  56. - Added grey scale reading for Photo-CDs.
  57. - Added a filter to excluse selected file formats from the main window.
  58. - Added a Change Directory function to the file menu.

  61. - Added Huffman and Group 3 1D TIFF reading.

  66. Conversion between animation formats has been enabled for FLI/FLC to AVI, but not 
  67. AVI to FLC. The FLI/FLC write function wasn't sufficiently stable when this version
  68. was released. This function will be implemnted in version 1.1m.

  70. There is a minor problem with the Kodak Photo-CD support, which appears to be due to 
  71. a bug in the Kodak libraries. Viewing Photo-CD files may orphan a small block of memory. 
  72. This memory will be freed when Graphic Workshop terminates. It's not large enough to 
  73. cause any meaningful problems, but it does make the free memory display in the About 
  74. box change slightly as you work.

  76. If you have any problems with the Photo-CD section... or just some comments... we'd 
  77. like to hear from you.

  79. Graphic Workshop for Windows may encounter difficulty printing to some versions of the
  80. Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 550C driver. This is a known bug, and we're working on it.

  82. Some users have reported problems with installing Graphic Workshop on systems with
  83. relatively little memory. The SETUP program may be unable to uncompress some of 
  84. the files on the distribution disk. If this happens to you, get to the DOS prompt 
  85. and do the following.
