  18. What's in the distribution?
  19. =======================================================================
  20. This distribution contains DirectDraw and Glide drivers for Voodoo Rush
  21. when running with Alliance AT25 (AT3D). The DirectDraw portion of the 
  22. drivers supports Direct3D when using DirectX 5.0.

  31. - Windows 95
  32. - PC with a Pentium or Pentium Pro Processor and a free PCI slot
  33. - 16MB of RAM
  34. - DirectX 5.0

  36. Upgrade Existing AT25/Voodoo Rush Drivers
  37. -----------------------------------------

  39. 1) Start Windows 95
  40. 2) Extract the files for the AT25/Voodoo Rush driver to a directory.
  41. 3) Click Start, Contol Panel.  Double-click on Display.
  42. 4) Click the settings tab
  43. 5) Click Change Display Type
  44. 6) Under Adapter Type, Click Change
  45. 7) Click Have Disk
  46. 8) You will be prompted as follows:

  48.      Windows 95 Standard Release users: Enter the path to the extracted drivers
  49.  
  50.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 users: Click the Next Button, no updated
  51.                     drivers will be found.   Click on
  52.                     "Other Location" then enter the path
  53.                     to the extracted drivers.

  55. 9) When asked to choose a device, select "Alliance 3D + Voodoo Rush"
  56. 10) You may then be prompted to insert the Windows 95 Alliance 3D + Voodoo
  57.     Rush Driver Disk.  Enter the path to the drivers again.
  58. 11) Windows will copy the drivers.   Reboot the system when prompted
  59. 12) Install DirectX 5.0

  65. Fresh Installation 
  66. ------------------

  68. NOTE: It is suggested that the extracted drivers be copied to a
  69. floppy when executing a fresh installation.
  70.  
  71. 1) Before removing your existing 2D card switch the video driver to 
  72.    Standard VGA
  73. 2) If you have an exisiting 3Dfx Voodoo based card also remove the 
  74.    following key:
  75.     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\CurrentControlSet\DirectDrawDrivers
  76. 3) Power off system and remove your existing 2D card and any Voodoo 
  77.    based cards
  78. 4) Install the AT25 and Voodoo Rush Combo Card in a free PCI Slot
  79. 5) Power on the system and verify that video appears during post
  80. 6) Start Windows 95
  81.  
  82.   (Once Windows 95 starts you may be notified that no video device
  83.    exists, click Cancel if this message appears)
  84.  
  85. 7) Windows 95 will detect a new VGA Compatible Display, you need to:
  86.      Windows 95 Standard Release users: Select "Use Driver from Mfr"
  87.                                         and click OK
  88.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 users: Click the Next Button on the
  89.                                         Detection Dialog Box
  90.  
  91. 8) Insert this floppy in the A: drive and point the driver location to
  92.    A:\
  93. 9) You may then be prompted to insert the Windows 95 Alliance 3D+ Voodoo
  94.    Rush Driver Disk.  Again, enter A:\ and press OK.
  95. 10) Windows will copy the drivers from the Floppy, Reboot the system 
  96.     when prompted
  97. 11) After reboot, verify that Windows 95 runs.  If Windows 95 hangs, 
  98.     power the system off and verify that the Voodoo Rush Daughterboard
  99.     is installed correctly and is functioning.
  100. 12) Install DirectX 5.0.

  103. Limitations

  106. Running 640x480,16 Color will run SUPERVGA.DRV or VGA.DRV.  No Voodoo 
  107. Rush features will be used.  Switch to a different resolution or color depth.

  110. Troubleshooting

  115. Problem: After installing the card, the system still detects my old 
  116. card even though it is no longer in the system.
