  1. Uninstall instructions:
  2. =======================
  3. These are instructions to completely uninstall the DeskScan II version 2.2
  4. application from your computer:
  5.  
  6.  
  7.   1) Make a backup copy of your CONFIG.SYS and WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI files.
  8.  
  9.   2) From DOS (not from a DOS shell under Windows) do the following:
  10.  
  11.      a) If either of these lines are present in your SYSTEM.INI file,
  12.         remove them:
  13.  
  14.         DEVICE=...\WIN400I.386         For Windows version 3.1
  15.         DEVICE=...\HPSCANR.386         For Windows version 3.1
  16.  
  17.           [Note: "..." will usually be "C:\DESKSCAN" but may be a different
  18.            path depending on the directory and disk drive you told Setup to
  19.             put DeskScan II into when you first installed it.]
  20.  
  21.      b) If any of the following lines are present in your CONFIG.SYS
  22.         file, remove them:
  23.  
  24.         DEVICE=...\MINI400I.SYS
  25.         DEVICE=...\SJIIX.SYS
  26.         DEVICE=...\SJII.SYS
  27.         DEVICE=...\SJDRIVER.SYS
  28.  
  29.           [Note: "..." will usually be "C:\DESKSCAN" but may be a different
  30.            path depending on the directory and disk drive you told Setup to
  31.             put DeskScan II into when you first installed it.]

  33.      c) Delete the following file from your WINDOWS directory:
  34.         HPDS22.INI
  35.  
  36.      d) Delete the following file from your WINDOWS\TWAIN directory:
  37.         HPDS22.DS
  38.  
  39.      e) Delete all of the files in the directory where DeskScan II
  40.         version 2.2 was installed.

  42.      f) Remove the directory where DeskScan II version 2.2 was installed.

  44.   3) From the Windows Program Manager:
  45.  
  46.      a) Delete the Program Manager Group where DeskScan II 2.2 was
  47.         installed.  The DeskScan II icons will be removed automatically.
  48.  
  49. DeskScan II version 2.2 has been successfully removed from your computer.
