  1. NDIS...................General installation notes
  2.  
  3.   This document applies to the EtherExpress(tm) 16, 16TP, 16C, FLASH,
  4.   FLASH TP, FLASHC, MCA, and MCA/TP.  It contains installation notes 
  5.   for installing the driver. It does not explain how to configure an 
  6.   EtherExpress board.  For instructions about configuring the board, 
  7.   see either the Expert's Guide or the Complete Guide for your board.

  9.   This document (or an updated version) is also available on FaxBACK,
  10.   document #6309.

  12.   INTRODUCTION:
  13.   -------------
  14.   Many different network operating systems use a standard NDIS driver to
  15.   talk to the network adapter.  The NDIS subdirectory on the EtherExpress
  16.   disk contains the files you need to use the EtherExpress card with one of
  17.   these operating systems.

  19.   FILE           Purpose
  20.   ----           --------------------------------------------
  21.   EXP16.DOS      NDIS driver for DOS workstations.
  22.   
  23.   EXP16.OS2      NDIS driver for servers & OS/2 workstations.
  24.   
  25.   PROTOCOL.INI   Fragment of the general PROTOCOL.INI file.  This fragment
  26.                  contains information specific to the EtherExpress 16
  27.                  boards.  You'll need to add this fragment to the general
  28.                  PROTOCOL.INI file.
  29.   
  30.   EXPSTAT.EXE    A utility for analyzing problems after your driver is
  31.                  loaded.  You can run this under OS/2 (inside or outside the
  32.                  compatibility box) or under DOS.
  33.   
  34.   Your NOS may also make use of a Network information (.NIF) file.  If so,
  35.   you can find the .NIF file for DOS workstations in the 
  36.   \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\NIF directory, and the .NIF file for OS/2
  37.   workstations in the \MSLANMAN.OS2\DRIVERS\NIF directory.
