  6. Thank you and congratulations on purchasing the Creative iNFRA18oo 
  7. CD-ROM drive. The following notes provide information on how to 
  8. install and use the software.

  24. Please take note of the following points when using the Creative 
  25. Infra Suite:
  26.  
  27. (1) This version of the software suite only works under Win95 with 
  28. the native CD-ROM driver or the Creative mini-port driver. In either 
  29. case, the driver can only support one IDE CD-ROM drive per IDE port, 
  30. so you will not be able to connect two CD-ROM drives to the same IDE
  31. port. However, a harddisk can share the same port with the CD-ROM
  32. drive. Remember to correctly set the master/slave setting of the 
  33. drives when you connect more than one device to the IDE port.
  34.  
  35. (2) The "auto-insertion" feature on the iNFRA18oo CD-ROM drive has 
  36. to be disabled for the Infra Control Panel program to work properly. 
  37. The SETUP program will launch the Infra Control Panel program once it 
  38. has finished, and the Infra Control Panel program will make the 
  39. neccessary changes and reboot the system.
  40.  
  41. (3) On some PCs installed with the latest version of Windows 95 
  42. (OEM Service Pack 2), our tests indicate occasional errors in the 
  43. protocol when the software communicates with the CD-ROM drive. We 
  44. are working to correct this problem, and it will be fixed in the next 
  45. release. If you encounter abnormal behavior or software failure when 
  46. using the software suite, please turn off the DMA mode option of the 
  47. iNFRA18oo as follows.

  49. Steps:
  50. (a) Start the Windows 95 Control Panel utility from the Start menu.
  51. (b) Run the System applet.
  52. (c) Select the Device Manager tab to see all the hardware devices 
  53.     connected to the PC.
  54. (d) Double-click on 'CDROM' device type. This will expand to show the 
  55.     CD-ROM drives attached to the PC.
  56. (e) Locate the entry for iNFRA1800 CD-ROM drive (this should show as 
  57.     'CREATIVE CD1220E' or similar). Double click on this entry to 
  58.     bring up its property page.
  59. (f) Select the Settings tab, and turn off the DMA mode option if it 
  60.     is on. Click OK to close the property page.
  61. (g) Close the System Properties applet and the Windows 95 Control 
  62.     Panel.

  66.    How To Use
  67. ======================================================================

  69. 1. The Infra Control Panel program is loaded each time Windows 95 is
  70. started. If you have closed the Infra Control Panel, you can re-start
  71. it by running it from the Creative Infra Suite program group. When the
  72. program is executing, an icon appears on the TaskBar. You can right-
  73. click on this icon to bring up its menu.

  75. 2. You may change the program settings by selecting the Property item.

  77. 3. To terminate the program, choose the Close option from the menu.

  79. 4. If you have the Creative remote controller, you may use it to
  80. control the iNFRA18oo CD-ROM drive.

  82. 5. When a new CD is inserted into the iNFRA18oo CD-ROM drive, the 
  83. Infra Multimedia Deck is automatically started to play the CD if it 
  84. is supported. Currently the following media types are supported: AVI 
  85. files, wave files, MIDI files, Audio CD, Video CD, MixedMode CD, and 
  86. MMCD disc.

  92.    Infra Web
  93. ======================================================================

  95. Infra Web program is an utility that allows two of the more popular 
  96. Internet browsers: Netscape Navigator 3.0 and Microsoft Internet 
  97. Explorer 3.0, to be controlled using the Creative remote controller.
  98.  
  99. In order for the browsers to work properly, you may need to setup 
  100. Infra Web when you run it the first time. Refer to the user manual or 
  101. on-line help for more information.

  103. NOTES:
  104. (1) After selecting a hypertext link, pressing ENTER will go to the 
  105. next link.
  106.  
  107. (2) Leaving the HOME page will automatically turn on the SHIFTLOCK, so 
  108. that navigating the web pages are easier.
  109.  
  110. (3) Once Infra Web is running, pressing "Web" again using the remote 
  111. controller will activate the browser. By pressing "Web" twice in a row 
  112. will close Infra Web. The browser may also be closed if the option under 
  113. Configure | Properties | Preferences is set to be so.
