  13. This description file is for installing ZyXEL Elite series, 2864 (V.34) and/or
  14. 2864I (ISDN Modem), in Windows 95.

  19. (0) Get the Elite driver WIN95INF.ZIP for Windows 95 from file area 13 of ZyXEL
  20.     BBS (+886-35-787045) or other ZyXEL_net BBSs.
  21.  
  22. (1)  Unzip WIN95INF.ZIP and copy the unziped file MDMZYX.INF to floppy disk.
  23.  
  24. (2) Connect your Elite modem to PC's serial port.
  25.  
  26. (3)  Run Windows 95
  27.  
  28. (4)  Clike "Start" icon
  29.  
  30. (5)  Select "Settings" icon
  31.  
  32. (6)  Select "Control Panel" icon
  33.  
  34. (7)  Double click "Modems" icon
  35.  
  36. (8)  Click "Add" button
  37.  
  38. (9)  Click "Next" button, Win95 will check COM port status
  39.  
  40. (10) Click "Next" button again and install MDMZYX.INF
  41.  
  42. (11) Click "Have Disk" button
  43.  
  44. (12) Select the file "MDMZYX.INF". For example, select disk drive A (or B),
  45.      then select MDMZYX.INF
  46.  
  47. (13) Click "Next" button

  49. (14) Select a correct device name in "Models" box. For example, Elite 2864 V.34
  50.      If you want to install Elite 2864I, you have to specify the ISDN protocol
  51.      at the same time.

  53. (15) Click "Next" button

  55. (16) Select appropriate COM port. For example, COM 1

  57. (17) Click "Next" button

  66. Following description is for "How to drive Elite modem in Windows 95 built-in
  67. "Hyper Terminal" program.

  71. (1) Click "Start" icon
  72.  
  73. (2) Select "Programs" icon
  74.  
  75. (3) Select "Accessories" icon
  76.  
  77. (4) Select "Hyper Terminal" icon
  78.  
  79. (5) Double click "Hypeterm" icon
  80.  
  81. (6) Enter the right name of the device (for example, Elite 2864) to "Name"
  82.     box, and select a smart icon for this device.

  84. (7) Click "Ok" button
  85.  
  86. (8) Select "Elite 2864 V34" in "Connect Using" box and enter the phone number
  87.     (MUST) which you want to make a connection.

  89. (9) Click "Ok" button

  91. (10) If you don't want to make any connection, click "Cancle" button
  92.  
  93. (11) Enter terminal mode, type "AT" (or any valid AT command), you will get
  94.      "OK" response.

  96. (12) From now on, if you want to use Hyper Terminal for connection, just simply
  97.      click the new added icon (Elite 2864).
