  2. README FILE FOR WINLOGO for Win95 and Win 3.1x
  3. ----------------------------------------------

  5. WINLOGO is a program for Windows 3.1x and Windows 95 
  6. which allows users to change the Windows startup logo 
  7. by a simple menu selection. It thus makes it easy to 
  8. customise Windows by substituting company logos, 
  9. funny pictures, etc., for the default VGA logo that 
  10. comes with Windows itself.
  11.  
  12. INSTALLATION
  13. ------------
  14. To install WINLOGO, all you need to do is to copy the files
  15. into a directory that is in the DOS path, and then create
  16. a program manager item for WINLOGO.EXE. The files in this
  17. package are;
  18.  
  19.    [a] "WINLOGO.EXE",    the "bound" executable (contains both
  20.                          a DOS and a Windows module built-in)
  21.    [b] "WINLOGO.INI",    the INI file
  22.    [c] "WINLOGO.HLP",    the HELP file (Windows HLP format)
  23.    [d] "CTL3D.DLL",      library file needed by WINLOGO.EXE
  24.                          Needs to be in a directory in the "path"
  25.    [e] "REGISTER.TXT",   info about registration, and registration sites
  26.    [f] "ORDER.FRM",      a fill-in registration form
  27.    [g] "HISTORY.TXT",    the history of WINLOGO development
  28.    [h] "README.TXT",     this file
  29.    [i] "BITMAPS.ZIP",    zip file containing sample bitmaps for the logos
  30.    [j] "FILE_ID.DIZ",   description file for BBS sysops.

  32. After the program files are installed, you need
  33. to;
  34.       Edit the file WINLOGO.INI if you have installed the
  35.       program into a directory other than C:\WINLOGO. You
  36.       need to supply the name of the WINLOGO directory on
  37.       the RLE-DIRECTORY line. This is where WINLOGO will
  38.       look for the RLE bitmaps to use. Otherwise, it will
  39.       default to your Windows System directory.
