  1. WinLOGO for Win3.1x and Win95: a program 
  2. to change the Win3.1x and Win95 startup logo.

  4. This program is a "bound" Windows and DOS
  5. program (i.e., it contains both a DOS and
  6. a Windows module, built into the .EXE file).
  7. The Windows startup logo is just a bitmap
  8. file in "RLE 4" format, which is built by
  9. the Windows setup program into WIN.COM.
  10. To change the Win3.1x startup logo, all you
  11. need to do is to create your own bitmap in
  12. "RLE 4" format, and then select it from the
  13. Winlogo menu. To change the Win95 logo, all
  14. you need is to select a 256 colour bitmap
  15. (320x400x256) from the Winlogo menu.
  16. Winlogo does the rest - it takes only about 
  17. 1 second. For Win3.1x, Winlogo builds a new 
  18. Windows .COM file called WINCHG.COM. Run this, 
  19. instead of WIN.COM, and you will see your new 
  20. logo.

  22. For Win95, it replaces the relevant bitmap file.
