- What's New in this version of CleanSweep
- ========================================
-
- Not only is CleanSweep faster, it has been greatly enhanced with new
- Internet features (from CleanSweep Deluxe) and Fast & Safe Cleanup.
- Additional improvements have been made to many features from earlier
- versions.
-
-
- Fast & Safe Cleanup -- a one-button, "clean on demand" feature
- that will instantly remove several safe file types (Internet
- cache, Internet history, Recycle Bin, Windows Temp files, and
- lost cluster files), or can be scheduled to eradicate these
- file types at boot or on a timed basis
-
- The Quarterdeck Safe -- a "safe" repository for certain
- user-defined file types which get deleted. By selecting file
- types to be transported to the Safe, every time that type of
- file is deleted it can be transferred to the Quarterdeck Safe
- rather than be erased when the Recycle Bin is emptied. The
- Quarterdeck Safe provides an extra level of protection for
- your important data.

- Known Issues with CleanSweep 4.0
- ================================
-
- - We do not recommend removing the Microsoft Plus! Pack, Internet
- Explorer 4.0, or WordPerfect Suite 8.0 with CleanSweep.
-
- - The Quarterdeck Safe does not function on Windows 98.
-
- - HPFS (IBM's High Performance File System available on Windows NT) is
- no longer supported by CleanSweep.
-
- - Smart Sweep and Usage Watch do not function on SMP (multi-processor)
- machines on Windows NT.
-
- - On Windows NT, Smart Sweep may ask you if you would like to monitor
- an install more than once. This is because CleanSweep must monitor
- 16- and 32- bit modules separately, and some application install
- programs use both 16- and 32- bit components.
-
- - The Applications View in Registry Genie is predictive by nature. It
- may not list all applications you have installed and it may list a
- few that you don't have installed. This is because of the fact that
- some applications share Registry keys.
-
- - Some changes are made to CleanSweep's drivemap file when CleanSweep
- is exited. If files that you have deleted are still showing up in
- one of CleanSweep's finders, exit CleanSweep and restart it.
-
- - Novell's Client 32 and QDFSDRV.SYS conflict with each other to give
- the error message KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED when Windows is
- starting. To get around this, do not log into the network upon
- startup. There is an option on the Windows NT tab of the Novell
- Client logon screen that will allow you to log into the workstation
- only. You may then map your network drives as you need them once
- everything is started. Do not set these connections to be restored
- when you login the next time.
