  12. What is Desktop Control?
  13.  
  14. Desktop Control is a freeware utility which automatically rotates your
  15. Windows 95/NT wallpaper on startup and then on regular user-defined
  16. intervals.

  18. It supports a wide variety of source file formats in addition to standard
  19. BMP and DIB files: PICT (Macintosh), TGA, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, and GIF.

  21. How do I use it?
  22.  
  23. Simply designate a folder on your hard drive as your repository for
  24. wallpaper images. Dragging new files of any supported format into this
  25. folder will cause Desktop Control to work them into the rotation.
  26. Alternatively, you can drag files directly on top of the Desktop Control
  27. main window, which will automatically copy them to your current wallpaper
  28. directory.

  30. The first time you run Desktop Control, it will prompt you to enter your
  31. preferences: select a directory from which Desktop Control is to grab
  32. images, set the rotation interval, and you are ready to go!

  34. Obviously a shortcut to Desktop Control should be placed in your "StartUp"
  35. folder to facilitate automatic launch of Desktop Control. Five seconds
  36. after launch, Desktop Control will either automatically minimize itself to
  37. your system traybar or quit, depending on the rotation interval setting. To
  38. restore the main window, setup window, or to rotate the backdrop,
  39. right-click on the traybar icon.

  43. With literally tens of other wallpaper utilities out there, why use Desktop
  44. Control?

  52. Desktop Control is freeware and may be freely distributed on any
  53. shareware/freeware compilations, so long as this "ReadMe" file is included,
  54. and no modifications are done to the executable.
