- Here are some things that might be problems:
-
- o Some of the Western Digital (now Standard Microsystems
- Corporation, SMC) Elite 16 cards do not work properly with the
- Crynwr packet driver. Western Digital has their own packet
- driver which is available from their BBS:
- (714) 753-1068 Courier HST 9600
- (714) 753-1234 1200/2400 bps
-
- o 3Com says that because of timing problems in the IBM PS/2 model
- 30/286, or other machines which use the VTI 8000 chip set, the
- 3c507 may not operate properly. There is a software fix, but I
- have not implemented it because no one has complained.
-
- o The 3c503 driver requires that memory be enabled.
-
- o The DE-600 driver will only work the first time after powering up the
- machine. After that, it doesn't recognize the existance of the adapter.
-
- o The 8.x driver ignores that class of your driver when your
- application asks for all packets regardless of type. This is
- very unlikely to cause problems, but should be documented anyway.
