The aim of the game is to end up with only four aces in the four spaces empty at beginning. Every round is started by the player dealing a row of cards, which places one card on each of the four columns. After dealing a row of cards, the player can start removing cards. Cards can only be removed if they are uncovered and a higher card of the same sort is also uncovered. If a removed card leaves an empty space, one uncovered card can be moved to that empty space uncovering another card. When no more cards can be removed, the player must deal another row of cards. If all the cards have been dealt out and no more cards can be removed, the game is lost.
