  29. 1.0 INTRODUCTION

  32. 1.1  What is Matchup baseball?

  35.   Matchup baseball is a baseball simulator / game. It matches up 2 teams
  36. and their statistics and allows for the Matchups that were never possible.  
  37. Imagine The Rocket vs. The Homerun King.  Players of today can face the 
  38. greats from earlier eras.    
  39.  
  40.   The outcome is NOT random, rather based on the statistics of the 2 players
  41. currently matched up.  It was created to analyze the statistics of baseball
  42. for purposes of:  Enjoyment, comparison, future predictions, rainouts
  43. and even strike shortened seasons... 
  44.  
  45.   Pick the teams to Matchup and playball. You control the speed of simulation 
  46. or you can use the Lightning feature to complete a game in just seconds.  
  47. View the statistics of the game you just completed and compile them to keep 
  48. track of a seven-game series, an entire season or whatever you wish.

  50.   Even Edit/Create your own teams, you can enter the stats yourself or select
  51. from previous years just by clicking!  Quickly build teams with full stats 
  52. from 1994 and 1995 (Included)! The Stats are in comma delimited text format
  53. so they are easily imported in to spreadsheet programs.

  55.   View compiled stats (*.cmp) or the statistics of a matchup baseball 
  56. team (*.bb).  Bring in a player from the bench or a reliever from the bullpen.
  57. Make the game end in any inning you wish.  Have the game last 100 innings or
  58. 1200 innings to give a close approximation for a full season!

  60.   Even though there are an infinite number of factors involved in the outcome 
  61. of a baseball game, Matchup baseball gives a close approximation of outcomes 
  62. that is quite impressive.  However, other factors when comparing different
  63. eras of players should be taken into account, from different rules
  64. to different lifestyles.  Enjoy the Matchups!

  86. - COMPILE : The registered version includes a compile feature to keep track 
  87.     of statistics for a seven game series, an entire season, or whatever 
  88.     you want.

  90. - CHANGE GAME LENGTH : Make the game end in any inning you wish.  Have
  91.                        the game last 100 innings! or 1200 to give an

  130. 1.4 How to play
  131. ---------------
  132.  Just select the Home and Visiting teams along
  133. with their respective starting pitchers and playball. You have the ability
  134. to control the speed of game simulation.  Use the Lightning feature to 
  135. complete the game in just seconds.  Use the Quick Pitch feature to flip
  136. through hitter/pitcher matchups quickly or use the Cruise Control button 
  137. to relax and enjoy the play-by-play occur.  
  138.  View the statistics of the game you just

  177.    Play Matchup baseball in Windows in 256 colors.

  179.    To Change lineups, Edit a team and enter the stats.  Use the SWAP feature
  180.    to quickly switch the lineup positions of 2 players.

  190. the box scores and comparing different eras of sports history. I play 
  191. baseball, basketball, and other recreational activities.  I enjoy programming,
