  6. free version from our web site. It will "remember" your
  7. registration key and you will be running NetCaptor Pro.

  9. *** SECURITY UPDATE - PLEASE READ ***

  11. One of the nice things about building a browser on top of the
  12. Internet Explorer engine is that I don't have to worry about
  13. web navigation and HTML rendering. The downside is that NetCaptor
  14. can inherit some of IE's security weaknesses, including a 
  15. recent vulnerability described here:

  20. At its core, this vulnerability is caused by the execution 
  21. of one of several protocols (ms-its, ms-itss, its, mk, mhtml) that 
  22. don't serve a practical purpose in a browser. We have 
  23. disabled/blocked these protocols in NetCaptor 7.5.2 so it is not 
  24. vulnerable to the same exploits as Internet Explorer.

  26. NOTE - one vulnerability requires a "Web Page Dialog" to be 
  27. launched. NetCaptor's PopupCaptor will generally block these, 
  28. so you must bypass or turn-off PopupCaptor if you wish to view
  29. any of the proof-of-concept pages that demonstrate the exploit.

  42. *** FREE VERSION USERS: The free version of NetCaptor no longer 
  43. downloads text ads from the internet. Instead, it will display 
  44. sometimes display a list of "Related Searches" in the ad bar. 
  45. These keywords are taken from a list that lives inside NetCaptor 
  46. and it creates the displayed list by analyzing the page 
  47. you are viewing. If you click a link, it will take you to our 
  48. search page. We think you'll like this new ad system.

  50. FEATURES
  51. * New "Add Favorite Here" feature makes it easy to add a Favorite
  52.   to any Favorites or Links folder with one click.
  53. * Expandable CaptorGroups. You have to try this to appreciate it.
  54.   Click "Expand CaptorGroups" in the CG menu. NetCaptor will
  55.   "expand" your groups so you can open the whole thing or
  56.   individual groups with a single click.

  59. * Removed the "Address Tools" button from the address bar. The
  60.   same tools are now available from the drop-down menu of the 
  61.   "Go" button.
