Right click on <i>My Computer</i> and then choose <i>Properties</i>.

Next click on the <i>Hardware</i> tab and then click on the <i>Device Manager</i> button.

Right click on the <i>USB Enhanced Host (EHCI) Controller</i>, and then choose <i>Properties</i>.
It will be located in either the <i>USB Controllers</i> subsection or under Other Devices, listed as a Universal Serial Bus Controller.

Now click on the <i>Driver</i> tab, and then click on the <i>Driver Details</i> button to bring up the file version numbers for your USB 2.0 enhanced host controller.
You should now be looking at a screen like this one.

Please ensure that the file versions listed on your screen either match or are later than the following list:

<li>System32\Drivers\usbehci.sys 5.1.2600.1106
<li>System32\Drivers\usbhub.sys 5.1.2600.1106
<li>System32\Drivers\usbport.sys 5.1.2600.1106
<li>System32\Hccoin.dll 5.1.2600.1106
<li>Sytem32\usbui.dll 5.1.2600. 0

Once you have checked the version numbers, click on ok to exit this screen. If the file versions match you can then close each of the open windows on your desktop and continue on to <a href="Getting Started uUSB Master - Install the software.htm">Step 2</a>.

However if the file versions arenÆt the same please do the following:

In the Enhanced Host Controller Properties window (window 3 above), click the <i>Update Driver</i> button. You will then be shown a screen similar to the one on the right.

Click <i>Install the software automatically (Recommended)</i>, and then click <i>Next</i>.

Windows XP should find some new up-to-date drivers, which it will then install. Following this you may be asked to reboot your machine, and if you are please do so. If not, you can now safely close any open windows on your desktop as they arenÆt needed anymore.
You should now have the most up to date drivers installed so you can continue on to <a href="Getting Started uUSB Master - Install the software.htm">Step 2</a>.
