Some PCs have lids that simply lift off while others are quite well screwed down.

Keep all of the screws in a safe place so that you can find them later. You'll need to make sure that you can account for all of the screws removed in case one has fallen in and is rattling about inside the computer.

Locate a Spare PCI Slot

Locate a PCI slot that doesn't have anything plugged in to it. They are usually coloured white as shown in the photo.

If the blanking plate for the spare PCI slot is screwed down, please remove this.

Please note that if there is excessive dust in the slot, you'll have to remove it using a soft brush or compressed air.

Remove the blanking plate

Remove the blanking plate for the PCI slot from the rear of the PC, and keep the screw and plate away from the PC.

Insert the DigiTV Card

First of all, make sure you don't have any static electricity built-up on you by touching a piece of bare metal on the PC case (Static can damage delicate electronics).

Remove the DigiTV card from its protective anti-static packaging and insert it into the spare PCI slot. Make sure that the gold edge connectors are pushed fully home and that the DigiTV connectors on the side of the card do not foul any of the PC's metalwork.

Secure the Card

Please now secure the DigiTV PCI card in place using a blanking plate screw.

Once you are happy that the card is firmly in place, replace the PC's lid together with any screws that were removed.

Connect the aerial

Look around the back of the PC now and you'll see the DigiTV connectors as shown in the photo.

Take your aerial lead and plug it into the aerial input on the connector stack (the one shown on the far right in the photo).

If your aerial plug does not fit the UHF DigiTV connector, you'll probably have to use a male-to-male UHF adaptor (not supplied).

Do not plug your aerial into the similarly shaped UHF connector next to the aerial input. This will prepare the machine to load the DigiTV drivers.
