  20. This document describes IBM infoMarket's Cryptolope Helper Application 
  21. for Windows. Our web site is http://www.infomarket.ibm.com. Please
  22. check it for the latest information. The software and documentation
  23. is provided to you in accordance with your license agreement.

  27. Technical requirements
  28.  
  29.     Windows 3.1, Windows 95 or Windows NT
  30.     1 MB of space on your hard drive for the Cryptolope Helper Application 
  31.     4 MB or more of space on your hard drive for the Cryptolope containers 
  32.     4 MB of RAM 
  33.     One of the following browsers:
  34.        Netscape Navigator for Windows 3.1, Version 2.0 or higher 
  35.        Netscape Navigator for Windows 95 or NT, Version 2.0 or higher 
  36.        Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 95, Version 2.0 or 
  37.            Version 3.0 release (beta versions are not supported)

  41. Installation

  43. Prior to installation you should close the browser program.
  44. To install the helper application under Windows, follow these steps:
  45.  
  46.     1. In Windows 3.1 or NT, go to the Program Manager and click on
  47.        "File", then "Run...". In Windows 95 click on "Start", then
  48.        "Run...".
  49.  
  50.     2. Click on "Browse..." and find the directory where you 
  51.        downloaded the installation program (CUW16V1.EXE for
  52.        Windows 3.1 or CUW32V1.EXE for Windows 95 and NT). 
  53.        Double click on the file, then click on Ok. 
  54.  
  55.     3. A dialog box entitled "WinZip Self-Extractor" will appear. 
  56.        Select a temporary directory in which to store the files. 
  57.        (It will default to your Windows temporary directory.) 
  58.        Click on the button that says Unzip. 
  59.  
  60.     4. The files are unzipped. Upon completion the message should 
  61.        read "12 files unzipped successfully". Click on OK. 
  62.  
  63.     5. The installation program is started automatically and the 
  64.          "Welcome" window appears. Click on Next. 
  65.  
  66.     6. Read the Cryptolope Helper Application License Agreement. If
  67.        you agree with the Terms and Conditions, click on the Yes button. 
  68.  
  69.     7. The "Choose Destination" window appears. Click on Next. 
  70.  
  71.     8. The IBM infoMarket Cryptolope Helper Application begins install-
  72.        ation. Icons are added to your Program Manager in the group IBM 
  73.        infoMarket (Windows 3.1 or NT) or in the Programs > IBM infoMarket
  74.        folder on your Start menu (Windows 95). 
  75.     
  76.     9. If you are installing the helper application for Windows 95 or NT
  77.        and have both the Navigator for Windows 95 or NT and the Internet 
  78.        Explorer, the "Select Browser" window appears. Choose the browser
  79.        you would like to use with Cryptolope documents.
  80.  
  81.     10. A window asks if you want to add three bookmarks to your Navigator 
  82.         bookmark file or Internet Explorer favorites folder. Click on Yes. 
  83.  
  84.     11. A window appears that says "Setup is now complete." Click on OK. 
  85.  
  86.     12. A window asks "Do you want to view the README file now?" Click on
  87.         Yes. 
  88.  
  89.     13. Read and then close the README File. 
  90.  
  91.     14. (Optional) If you have Windows 3.1 or NT associate the Cryptolope 
  92.         file type with the program in the File Manager. In File Manager, 
  93.         locate the directory where you installed the helper application
  94.         and select SAMPLE.CZP. On the File Manager menu, click "File", 
  95.         then "Associate". Now click on Browse and locate the file 
  96.         IMCUW16.EXE or IMCUW32.EXE in the PROGRAM directory. Select the
  97.         file and click on OK twice.

  101. Testing the installation 
  102.  
  103. If you use Windows 3.1 or NT test the installation by double clicking on 
  104. the "Sample Cryptolope Document" (SAMPLE.CZP) installed in the IBM infoMarket 
  105. group on your desktop. If you use Windows 95 click the Start button then click
  106. Programs, IBM infoMarket, and Sample Cryptolope Document.
  107.  
  108. Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer should display information 
  109. about the Cryptolope container. If you are a new infoMarket user click the 
  110. register! button. If you have already registered click the open now! button 
  111. to confirm that you can successfully purchase infoMarket documents. You may 
  112. be asked to complete your registration at this time; when you are done return 
  113. to the sample Cryptolope document and click the open now! button again.

  133. Manual configuration of the Navigator
  134.  
  135. If you install a new version of the Navigator you may need to configure
  136. the helper application manually. Perform the following steps:
  137.  
  138.     1. Start the Netscape Navigator.
  139.  
  140.     2. For the Navigator Version 2.0, select "Options", then 
  141.        "General Preferences..." from the menu bar.
  142.  
  143.     3. Click on the "Helpers" tab and create a new type for IBM 
  144.        infoMarket Cryptolope containers and associate it with the 
  145.        program using the following information, where "d:\path" 
  146.        is your installation drive and subdirectory:
  147.  
  148.            * Viewer name: 
  149.            if Windows 3.1      - d:\path\PROGRAMS\IMCUW16.EXE
  150.            if Windows NT or 95 - d:\path\PROGRAMS\IMCUW32.EXE         
  151.            * Mime Type: application
  152.            * Mime Subtype: iM-Cryptolope-Container
  153.            * File Extensions: .czp
  154.  
  155.     4. To add infoMarket bookmarks in Navigator Version 2.0,
  156.        select "Bookmarks", then "Go to Bookmarks..." from the 
  157.        menu bar. In the Bookmarks window select "Item", then
  158.        "Insert Bookmark..." three times to add the following:
  159.  
  160.        * Name:           IBM infoMarket Purchase Log
  161.          Location (URL): d:\path\CZPLOG.HTM
  162.  
  163.        * Name:           IBM infoMarket Cryptolope Documents
  164.          Location (URL): d:\path\CZPLIST.HTM
  165.  
  166.        * Name:           IBM infoMarket Home Page
  167.          Location (URL): http://www.infomarket.ibm.com/

  171. Known limitations
  172.  
  173.     1. The helper application installation program will be unable
  174.        to add bookmarks to Netscape Navigator if your bookmark file 
  175.        contains lines which are longer than 512 bytes. In this case 
  176.        you can add the bookmarks manually by following step 4 in the 
  177.        section "Manual configuration of the helper application" above.
  178.  
  179.     2. The helper application should not be used concurrently in
  180.        multiple Navigator windows since it may not correctly
  181.        identify the window to use for display.
  182.  
  183.     3. If you are using the Windows 3.1 version of Netscape Navigator
  184.        on Windows 95 or NT, do not install the helper application in
  185.        a subdirectory with a long name. In Step 7 of the installation
  186.        instructions, press the Browse button and change the subdirectory
  187.        to a short name, such as "C:\INFOMKT".
