- Version 1.1 Release Notes
- =========================
- In this version of NetAccelerator, you must first
- start NetAccelerator and then start your browser.
- NetAccelerator does not automatically recognize your
- browser if you start your browser first. (Use the
- Update button to check our web site regularly for an
- newer release that automatically detects when you
- start your browser.)
-
- If you wish to start your browser automatically when
- you start NetAccelerator, modify your NetAccelerator
- shortcut and add the following command line
- parameter:
-
- For Internet Explorer: /start=I
-
- For Netscape Navigator: /start=N
-
-
- Here are basic instructions for modifying a shortcut.
- These instructions assume you accepted the suggested
- default options when you installed NetAccelerator.
- Consult your Windows 95 documentation if you need
- more details.
-
- 1. Close NetAccelerator.
-
- 2. In My Computer, open the folder C:\Win95\Start
- Menu\Programs\IMSI.
-
- 3. Position your mouse over the NetAccelerator icon
- and click the right mouse button.
-
- 4. Choose Properties.
-
- 5. Go to the Shortcut tab.
-
- 6. Place your mouse at the end of the Target line and
- add either /start=I or /start=N.
-
- 7. Click OK.
-
- From now on, your selected browser will start
- automatically when you start NetAccelerator.

- Attention AOL Users!
- --------------------
-
- This version of NetAccelerator works with AOL
- provided you have Netscape Navigator 3.02+ or
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02+ installed on your PC
- and you do the following:
-
- 1. Launch AOL and after connecting, minimize the AOL Browser.
-
- 2. Launch NetAccelerator and click either Netscape or Internet Explorer
- (If you do not have a compatible browser installed on your PC
- Internet Explorer can be installed from the NetAccelerator CD,
- it is located in the IE95 folder (Run SETUP95.EXE).
-
- 3. Surf the web as you normally would.

-
- Performance variation
- ---------------------
- On different kinds of sites, NetAccelerator 1.1
- performance may vary depending on which browser you
- are using. Pages with frames, for example, will pre-
- load more reliably when you use Netscape Navigator
- than they will with Internet Explorer. If performance
- at a site is unsatisfactory, try viewing the site
- using the other browser. For more information on
- factors that affect NetAccelerator performance, see
- the UserÆs Guide.
-
- Netscape Navigator users may experience better
- performance if they increase the size of their disk
- and memory cache (from Netscape Navigator, choose
- Options | Network Preferences | Cache).
