  11. <h1 class="calibre1" id="gui">The Main Library Window, aka the GUI</h1>

  13.   <p class="calibre2">Once the welcome wizard finishes you will be presented with the main
  14.   application window. There are a few components I would like to bring to your
  15.   attention. The central piece is the main book list. This takes up the
  16.   majority of the window and displays the books in a table. Just above the
  17.   main book list you will see the search area (more on this later) and above
  18.   that, a white box with a Library icon. When you connect a supported e-book
  19.   reader a Reader icon will appear next to the Library icon. You can switch
  20.   between viewing books in your Library and books on your e-book reader by
  21.   clicking on their respective icons.</p>

  23.   <p class="calibre2">The bar across the bottom of the window shows details about the currently
  24.   selected book, including its cover. If you click anywhere in the detail area
  25.   (including on the book cover) another window will open exposing more
  26.   information about the book.</p>

  28.   <p class="calibre2">At the bottom right of the detail area are three icons:</p>

  31.     <li class="calibre4">The curved arrow activates the cover flow view. Cover flow displays
  32.     the book covers in a fashion similar to how a juke box lays out albums.
  33.     The selected book is in the center while the neighboring covers are shown
  34.     at an angle. You can navigate though the book covers with the left and
  35.     right arrow keys on your keyboard. Click the curved arrow icon again to
  36.     hide the cover flow view.</li>

  38.     <li class="calibre4">The luggage tag icon activates the tag browser view. More on this
  39.     later.</li>

  41.     <li class="calibre4">The spinning progress icon labeled 'Jobs:' is one of the most
  42.     important pieces of the interface. Whenever calibre is working on
  43.     something (conversion, sending books to the reader, downloading news,
  44.     etc.) this icon will spin, and the number next to jobs will display the
  45.     number of jobs (activities) calibre is working on. You can click the icon
  46.     to expose more detail about the jobs in progress.</li>
