- 1. Front/Top/Side Grids
- ============================
-
- These are the three grids at the top of the screen. They show the positions
- of the shape's vertices and polygons viewed from the front, top and side.
-
- The arrows above the Top and Side grids show the forward direction.
-
- Clicking on the Grids with the mouse will move the currently selected
- vertex.
-
-
-
- 2. Polygon and Vertex Selectors
- ====================================
-
- The Polygon and Vertex Selectors are the two lists of numbers at the bottom
- left and bottom right of the screen.
-
- Defined polygons and vertices are shown in white, undefined polygons and
- vertices are shown in grey.
-
- Clicking on a white number with the mouse will select a previously defined
- vertex or polygon.
-
- The currently selected vertex is highlighted in red on the Vertex Selector and
- the Front/Top/Side grids.
-
- The currently selected polygon is highlighted in red on the Polygon Selector
- and in red or green on the Front/Top/Side grids.
-
- Red polygons are facing towards you, green polygons are facing away from you.
- Use the Reverse P button if a polygon is facing the wrong way.
-
-
-
- 3. Draw Vs button
- ======================
-
- Press this button to draw all of the shape's vertices on the Front/Top/Side
- grids.
-
-
-
- 4. New V button
- ====================
-
- Use this button to creat a new vertex.
-
- When you press the New V button, the next available vertex will be
- highlighted on the Vertex Selector and a new vertex will appear in the
- centre of the Front/Top/Side grids.
-
- Use the mouse to position the vertex on the Front/Top/Side grids.
-
-
-
- 5. Draw Ps button
- ======================
-
- Press this button to draw all of the shape's polygons on the Front/Top/Side
- grids.
-
-
-
- 6. New P button
- ====================
-
- Use this button to create a new polygon.
-
- A dialogue box will appear. Choose the type of polygon you wish to create
- by clicking on the appropriate shape.
- (Polygons can have 2, 3, 4 or 5 vertices. A polygon with 2 vertices is a
- line.)
-
- You can now enter the vertices of the new polygon. Click on the Vertex
- Selector to choose a vertex then click on the appropriate vertex field.
-
- When you have chosen all the vertices click on the OK button. The new
- polygon will appear on the Grids highlighted in either green or red.
-
-
-
- 7. Reverse P button
- ========================
-
- Press this button to flip the orientation of the currently selected polygon.
-
- eg. If the polygon is highlighted in green (facing away from you) it will
- become highlighted in red (facing towards you).
-
-
-
-
-
- 8. Colours button
- ======================
-
- Pressing this button will take you to the colours screen.
-
- The screen will change to show a three dimensional version of the shape.
-
- Use the Polygon Selector to chose a polygon on the shape. The selected
- polygon will be outlined in green or red depending on its orientation.
-
- Click on the colour grid to change the colour of the selected polygon.
-
- Note that polygons are only visible when they are facing towards you
- (in other words outlined in red).
-
- Press the OK button when you have finished colouring polygons.
-
-
-
- 9. Clear button
- ====================
-
- Press this button to clear the Front/Top/Side grids.
-
-
-
- 10. Connect L button
- ========================
-
- Use this button to 'connect' a line (a 2 vertex polygon) to another polygon.
- The line will then only be visible when the polygon is facing towards you. This
- is useful if you wish to write a word (eg. your name) on the shape.
-
- eg. to connect line 15 with polygon 8:
-
- Press Connect L. A dialogue box will appear.
-
- Click on 15 in the Polygon Selector.
-
- Click on the Line field in the dialogue box.
-
