  15. This is the Eye of GNOME, an image viewer program.  It is meant to be
  16. a fast and functional image viewer.

  18. Requirements

  21. This package requires the following modules to be installed: glib,
  22. GTK+, libgnomeui, libglade, gconf, gnome-desktop, gio, gdk-pixbuf,
  23. gnome-icon-theme, shared-mime-info, libart, and libglade.

  25. You can get these packages from your favourite GNOME FTP mirror or at
  26. http://download.gnome.org/sources or from other sources where GNOME
  27. packages are distributed. shared-mime-info can be downloaded
  28. from the freedesktop.org website.

  31. Optional Libraries
  32. ------------------

  34. 'Eye of GNOME' supports the reading of EXIF information stored in
  35. images by digital cameras. To get this working, you need the optional
  36. libexif library. It is available at http://libexif.sourceforge.net.
  37. If you also want to preserve your EXIF data on save make sure you have
  38. libjpeg installed, including the development files.

  40. In order to make 'Eye of GNOME' work as a single instance application you'll
  41. need D-Bus installed in your system. You can get it from
  42. http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/dbus .

  44. Other optional dependencies include Little cms for color management,
  45. Python, pygtk, and gnome-python for python plugins support, and
  46. Exempi for XMP metadata reading.
