  22. If you have any problems with the installation
  23. Or running of CLIMEX, check sections 2 and 3
  24. below, and/or consult the appropriate sections
  25. of the User's Guide.  If this does not resolve

  38. 2. INSTALLATION
  39. ---------------
  40. To install CLIMEX for Windows 1.1 from the
  41. floppy disks.
  42. 1. Put the disk labelled "Disk 1" in your
  43.    floppy drive.
  44. 2. From the Start button in Windows 95, 
  45.    choose "Run", or, under Windows 3.1,
  46.    from the Program Manager, choose File|Run.
  47. 3. Type A:\SETUP. (If your disk drive is not
  48.    drive A, type the appropriate letter instead.)
  49. 4. Choose OK.
  50. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  51.  
  52. Note that the previous version of CLIMEX needed
  53. a path to a directory C:\CTPM\SHARE, which was
  54. used to store common programs and data. This is
  55. not required anymore, and this path may be
  56. removed from your PATH statement.  See your
  57. local computer support person if you are unsure
  58. about how to do this.

  61. 4. PROBLEMS
  62. -----------
  63. Upgrading from CLIMEX for Windows,
  64.                Version 1.0
  65. The only files that are not compatible with
  66.     Version 1.0 are .SEL files. If you have 
  67.     created new .SEL files for Version 1.0, you
  68.     will need to create these again using
  69.     the new version of the MetManager.
  70.     No conversion facility has been supplied.
  71.  
  72. Otherwise, there are no known problems as of
  73.     the date of writing.
  74.  
  75. 4. NEW FEATURES
  76. ---------------
  77. The following is a partial list of enhancements
  78. provided by this version of CLIMEX.
  79.  
  80. (a) Map projections are now available for maps
  81.     by choosing the required projection when
  82.     creating the map in the     MapManager.
  83. (b) The daydegree-based Heat Stress now uses DV2
  84.     as the 
  85.     threshold for the daydegree calculation.
  86. (c) The values of the moisture model parameters
  87.     (Maximum 
  88.     Soil Storage and Evapotranspiration
  89.     Coefficient) can now be changed by the user.
  90. (d) Useful changes have been made to the
  91.     MetManager program. In particular, it gives
  92.     much more helpful information when tracking
  93.     down formatting errors during importing of
  94.     meteorological data.
  95. (e) Weekly stress indices are now graphed
  96.     directly (rather than as accumulated values).
  97. (f) Many other minor enhancements have been
  98.     added, and several bugs have been fixed.
