- 2. INSTALLATION
- ---------------
- To install CLIMEX for Windows 1.1 from the
- floppy disks.
- 1. Put the disk labelled "Disk 1" in your
- floppy drive.
- 2. From the Start button in Windows 95,
- choose "Run", or, under Windows 3.1,
- from the Program Manager, choose File|Run.
- 3. Type A:\SETUP. (If your disk drive is not
- drive A, type the appropriate letter instead.)
- 4. Choose OK.
- 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
-
- Note that the previous version of CLIMEX needed
- a path to a directory C:\CTPM\SHARE, which was
- used to store common programs and data. This is
- not required anymore, and this path may be
- removed from your PATH statement. See your
- local computer support person if you are unsure
- about how to do this.
-
-
- 4. PROBLEMS
- -----------
- Upgrading from CLIMEX for Windows,
- Version 1.0
- The only files that are not compatible with
- Version 1.0 are .SEL files. If you have
- created new .SEL files for Version 1.0, you
- will need to create these again using
- the new version of the MetManager.
- No conversion facility has been supplied.
-
- Otherwise, there are no known problems as of
- the date of writing.
-
- 4. NEW FEATURES
- ---------------
- The following is a partial list of enhancements
- provided by this version of CLIMEX.
-
- (a) Map projections are now available for maps
- by choosing the required projection when
- creating the map in the MapManager.
- (b) The daydegree-based Heat Stress now uses DV2
- as the
- threshold for the daydegree calculation.
- (c) The values of the moisture model parameters
- (Maximum
- Soil Storage and Evapotranspiration
- Coefficient) can now be changed by the user.
- (d) Useful changes have been made to the
- MetManager program. In particular, it gives
- much more helpful information when tracking
- down formatting errors during importing of
- meteorological data.
- (e) Weekly stress indices are now graphed
- directly (rather than as accumulated values).
- (f) Many other minor enhancements have been
- added, and several bugs have been fixed.
