- By using the [TAB] key on this main Bobby
- screen, you can switch between which
- directory window is the ACTIVE DIRECTORY
- WINDOW. The Active Dir Win is indicated by
- having the information bar, located at the
- very top of each dir win, highlighted in PINK
- (default).

- You can bring up the FULL-BLOWN Online Help
- by simply clicking the "?" button located at
- the bottom right corner of this screen. With
- it you can find out some very useful
- information about any desired screen zone
- anywhere in Bobby!

- You can bring up the FULL-BLOWN Bobby Manual
- right from within Bobby! To do this, bring up
- the Online Help Window by clicking the "?"
- button found at the bottom right side of this
- screen. With the Online Help Window up, select
- the MANUAL.

- Within Online Help, you can get very useful
- information about any screen zone within Bobby.
- To get a more 'verbose' explanation you can
- simply click the MANUAL button to bring up the
- FULL-BLOWN Bobby Manual and Bobby will
- automagically place you at the correct location
- for more explanation on the screen zone.

- You can have your favorite programs pop up by
- simply double clicking on a user-defined icon!
- To do this, create a Launching Icon by going into
- Icon Options. Your Launching Icon will appear in
- the Icon Window, the space just below the two
- directory windows. At anytime, just double click
- your Launching Icon to RUN your favorite program!

- You can create a HOT-KEY for any Action Button or
- Drive Button for even quicker, easier access to
- the action. Hot-keys can also be set for shelling
- out to the DOS prompt, quitting Bobby, and
- bringing up the Online Help. Go to the Options
- screen to set all these distinct hot-keys.

- Make the Non-Active Dir Win appear in the same
- path as the Active Dir Win by a few mouse clicks!
- To do this simply highlight a file in the Active
- Dir Win, move the mouse pointer to any part of the
- Non-Active Dir Win and DOUBLE-CLICK with the RIGHT
- MOUSE button. On the otherhand, highlighting a
- directory name in this process will place you into
- this new directory name path.

- The Active Dir Win can be identified by looking at
- the very top Information Bar for each dir win.
- This bar will be highlighted (PINK by default) for
- the Active Dir Win.

- Use your RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON in the top half or
- bottom half of the Active Dir Win to scroll the
- window up or down. This is equivalent to clicking
- the Up/Down Arrows just below the dir win's drag
- bar.

- You can highlight multiple adjacent files/
- directories in the Active Dir Win by clicking the
- LEFT MOUSE BUTTON on the first file and dragging
- your mouse in the desired direction! If you reach
- the border of the dir win, Bobby will
- automagically scroll the dir window display for
- you allowing you to, at the same time, highlight
- the remaining files.

- You can Drag 'N Drop your Launching Icons in any
- Directory Window to quickly go to the exact path
- of the Icon. To do this, click and hold your
- RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON on your Launching Icon and drag
- your mouse to the desired Dir Win then let go of
- the button.

- System Stats such as CPU type, disk capacity,
- printer availability, memory breakdown, etc. can
- be told to you in the Tech Info Window. The Tech
- Info Window can be brought up by clicking the
- area where your FREE memory TOTAL memory is
- displayed at the bottom of this screen, next to
- the "Q" button.

- Double clicking a file name will invoke Bobby to
- handle it appropriately. If you double clicked
- a file with the extension .EXE, .BAT or .COM
- Bobby will try to RUN the file. Selecting a .PCX
- or .GIF will SHOW the file as a picture. A .WAV
- or .VOC file will be PLAYED as a sound file via
- your Sound Blaster compatible card. All other
- file name extension will be viewed as a TEXT/
- BINARY file.

- Page Flaps seen on any of the 32 Action Buttons
- tell you of an underlying Action Button! By
- clicking your RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON on this type of
- button will show you the underlying Action Button.

- The entire CONFIGURATIONS of Bobby can be altered
- to your taste by entering the Config Screen. This
- is done by clicking the "SMILEY" face located at
- the bottom right of this screen.

- By highlighting files and directories in the Dir
- Win, you will see a running Total of Bytes
- highlighted located in the Dir Win Information Bar.
- A "+" can appear here representing an undetermined
- directory(s) size was highlighted -- the Total Bytes
- is most likely more than it shows in the running
- total. To determine the size of the directory(s),
- select the GETSIZE action button.

- Copying files in Bobby is very intuitive! If the
- number of files you have highlighted exceeds the
- target disk's free space, Bobby will ask you to
- insert a new disk. You will have the option of
- viewing the contents of this newly inserted disk,
- formatting it, and then continuing with the Copy!

- With the PATTERN BOX of the Dir Win, you can display
- a certain pattern of files/directories in the
- window. Mulitple patterns can be entered in each
- separated by a SPACE or a COMMA. Patterns can be
- actual filenames or very commonly, WILDCARDS.

- Scroll through the HISTORY of the PATH INPUT BOX or
- PATTERN BOX of the Dir Win by clicking the Up/Down
- Arrow Keys when in the box.

- By using the key combos:
- SHIFT-(left arrow) You can CLEAR the contents of
- any Text Field that you are
- presently in.
- SHIFT-(right arrow) You can get Bobby to 'finish
- off' the directory path you
- are trying to type.

- If you have a Super VGA graphics card, by running
- your VESA driver you can get SIGNIFICANT GRAPHIC
- ENHANCEMENTS when viewing picture files. Make sure
- to run the driver before running Bobby!

- With a Sound Blaster compatible sound card, you can
- have CRYSTAL CLEAR Sounds for the STARTUP of Bobby,
- each Directory Window, Action & Drive Button, HELP &
- Quit pop up. Setting this up is simple! Just go to

- face on the bottom right side of this screen.

- Use the Up/Down Arrow keys to SCROLL the Active Dir
- Win up and down. Use the PAGE-UP/DOWN keys to sroll
- up/down the Dir Win screen by a page. Use the HOME/
- END keys to go to the top/bottom of the Active Dir

- To quickly highlight certain patterns in the Active
- Dir Win, click on the action button MARK. Here you
- can enter in multiple patterns of file/directory
- names with wildcards. Using this command is
- equivalent to manually highlighting the desired
- files except it makes life MUCH quicker.

- Using the action button COPY SMART will help you get
- many highlighted files onto the smallest number of
- disks! It does this by selecting the files which
- BEST FIT the current free space of the disk.

- The BYTES OF FREE SPACE for the drive belonging to
- the Dir Win is shown in the Dir Win Information Bar
- to the far right.

- A DIRECTORY in the Dir Win can be identified by a
- file name that is in all CAPS and has a small
- yellow (default) drawer icon to the right of it.

- If you have NEW FILE SINCE set for at least 1 day
- ago, you will see all the files you received within
- a day specially highlighted informing you that they
- are NEW files! This special highlighting is done by
- the highlighting of ONLY the file date of the new
- file.

- The PATTERN BOX for the Dir Win can accept the
- multiple of any type of WILDCARD or filename. It
- can aso accept the keywords: NEW, ALL, ~(wildcard)
- With these forms of patterns, you can display
- specific types of file names in the Dir Win.

- Bobby can inform you of problems and/or try to get
- your attention in 2 ways; Produce a SPEAKER SFX or
- FLASH the SCREEN. Go to the Config Option Screen to
- set these.

- Set the SCREEN-BLANKER time to best suit you! You
- can set the time for blanking from 1 minute to 10
- minutes. For NO blanking of the screen, you can
- simply turn the option off.

- Have Dir Buffering for your highlighted files/
- directories when you enter another directory. This
- allows you to highlight any files you want and if
- you want to enter a directory, do so. On return,
- those previously highlighted files will still be
- marked!

- right side of this screen, you bring up the QUIT
- WINDOW. Here you can shell out to the DOS prompt
- in two ways while still having Bobby in memory; jump
- to DOS with the path of the directory we had just

- path of the Active Dir Win. We can also QUIT out of
- Bobby from here.
