  10.   INSTALLING AND SETTING UP COSESSION REMOTE 30-DAY EVALUATION COPY
  11.   =================================================================

  13.   There are two methods of installing the 30 Day Evaluation version of 
  14.   CoSession Remote. Method #1 doesn't use diskettes. Method #2 explains
  15.   how to make a disk set, if you wish.
  16.  
  17.   METHOD #1
  18.   =========
  19.  
  20.   1. When installing the 30 Day Evaluation version of CoSession Remote on a
  21.      Windows 3.X computer, click FILE, RUN and then BROWSE. When installing
  22.      on a Windows 95 computer, click START, RUN and then BROWSE.
  23.  
  24.   2. Select the directory that you unzipped CSRTRY.EXE in and click SETUP.EXE
  25.      and then click OK.
  26.  
  27.   3. Then simply follow the "Installing From The Disk Set" instructions, START 
  28.      WITH STEP #5.
  29.

  31.   METHOD #2 - MAKING A DISK SET
  32.   =============================
  33.  
  34.   1. Have available three formatted diskettes. Label them CoSession Remote disk
  35.      1 of 3,  2 of 3,  and 3 of 3.
  36.  
  37.   2. Go to a DOS prompt and then change to the directory where you downloaded
  38.      CSRTRY.EXE.
  39.  
  40.   3. Insert disk 1 of 3 into the floppy drive.
  41.  
  42.   4. Type MKDISKS A: . <Enter>
  43.      Notice that there is a space and a "." following A: as specified above.
  44.  
  45.   5. Follow the screen prompts and, for the floppy install, insert disk 2 of 3, 
  46.      and 3 of 3 when you're prompted to do so.
  47.  
  48.   6. At the end you should get a prompt saying "Program Completed Successfully."

  51.   INSTALLING FROM THE DISK SET
  52.   ============================
  53.  
  54.   1. Insert disk 1 of 3.
  55.  
  56.   2. When installing on a Windows 3.X machine click on FILE and then RUN.  On
  57.      Windows 95 machines click on START and then RUN.
  58.  
  59.   3. Then either type A:SETUP then OK or click on BROWSE and select the proper
  60.      drive and click on OK.
  61.  
  62.   4. Click on SETUP.EXE and then OK. Click on OK at the RUN Dialogue box.
  63.  
  64.   5. [CoSession Remote] Enter Name and Company Name and then click OK.
  65.  
  66.   6. [Install Directory] Simply click OK and the files will be copied to
  67.      C:\INSYNC\CSW. Or type in the path you prefer and click OK.

  69.   7. [Install Options]
  70.  
  71.      - Modem Only Install- Selecting this option will install the files
  72.        necessary for Serial/Modem connections only.
  73.  
  74.      - Full Installation - Selecting this option will install the files
  75.        necessary for Serial/Modem, SPX/IPX, NetBios and Winsock. This will allow
  76.        for network and Internet connections.
  77.  
  78.      - Custom Install- Selecting this option will allow you to install just
  79.        Viewer or Host.
  80.  
  81.      Make your selection and click OK. The files will be written to the
  82.      selected or default install directory.
  83.  
  84.   8. When the prompt "Insert Disk 2" appears, remove disk 1 of 3, insert
  85.      disk 2 of 3 and click OK. Repeat step for disk 3 of 3.

  87.   9. CoSession Remote needs to add SHARE.EXE to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. If
  88.      you do not have SHARE.EXE loading from AUTOEXEC.BAT, click "yes"
  89.      and it will be placed there for you.

  91.  10. Click OK to update your SYSTEM.INI file. It will add the CoSession
  92.      Drivers to your system.ini file, making a copy of the original SYSTEM.INI
  93.      and naming it SYSTEM.000.
  94.  
  95.  11. You can click "Test Modem Now" and CoSession Remote will identify
  96.      the COM port the modem is attached to and an appropriate modem type
  97.      and baud rate. If you happen to know the specific modem the computer is
  98.      using, the COM port it's attached to and the baud rate you would
  99.      like to select, click "Continue setup without testing modem."
  100.      Enter the proper selections and click OK to save them. If you
  101.      have let CoSession Remote run the "Test Modem Now" feature, read this
  102.      note:

  104.      NOTE - CoSession Remote has selected a generic modem that should work
  105.             for your modem. However, if your modem is a US Robotics, Gateway,
  106.             Practical Peripherals, Microcom, UDS, AT&T or Mulitech, then
  107.             select the specific brand of your modem from the list. If you
  108.             want to choose the specific brand and model of your modem,
  109.             press the first letter of your modem [i.e., "H" for Hayes] until
  110.             you reach the correct setting.

  112.  12. [Enter Phone Number] Enter the number of the computer you expect to
  113.      call the most often, or leave it blank and click OK.
  114.  
  115.  13. Setup has installed CoSession Remote successfully and added it to
  116.      your desktop. Click OK.
  117.  
  118.  14. The install program will remind you that CoSession expires in 30 days.
  119.      Click OK.
  120.  
  121.  15. From here you can "Restart Windows" or "Continue." To run the Host,
  122.      Windows must be restarted. However restarting is not required to run 
  123.      the Viewer.
