- ARJ2ZIP
- (C) Al Richards
- All Rights Reserved
- Converts ARJ files to ZIP files.
-
-
- Requirements:
- The programs required by this program are:
- ARJ.EXE
- PKZIP.EXE
-
- What to do first:
- Make sure that PKZIP.EXE & ARJ.EXE are in a search path. If you don't
- have PKZIP in it's own search path now, you are living in the dark ages!
- Place this program, ARJ2ZIP in your archiving directory along with PKZIP
- & ARJ.
-
- Operation:
- You should only convert ARJ files to ZIP files that exist in the current
- directory. Working from a different directory will work sometimes, but
- DOS get's confused and unexpected results may occur.
-
- An example using TEST as a filename.
- To convert a file named TEST.ARJ to TEST.ZIP, enter:
-
- ARJ2ZIP TEST (no extension)
-
- A temporary directory will be created ($$$$) and test.arj is extracted
- to this directory. Next, PKZIP will get these files and move them to
- it's new home, TEST.ZIP
- The origional TEST.ARJ will be deleted after confirmiing that TEST.ZIP
- was successfully created.
-
-
- Suggestion:
- I have all archiving type files in one directory named 'ZIP'. In this
- directory I have programs such as PKZIP, PKUNZIP, PKZMENU, RECOM, NARC,
- ZARC, ZIP2EXE, REZIP, ARC, UNARC, ARJ, LHA, SHAVE, CLEANUP, ARC2ZIP,
- ARJ2ZIP, LHA2ZIP & etc.
- This way I don't have to look all over for an archiving type program
- when I need it.
- These programs may be called from a batch file, but you should NOT make
- the batch file change directorys when calling any of these files!.
- They will work ok from your existing path so long as they are within the
- search path.
- You should place all your archiving type programs in one directory.
- You may call this directory anything you like, so long as you specify it
- in the search path within your Autoexec.bat file.
