  4. Welcome to YAREdit! YAREdit is a FREE full-screen external message
  5. editor for use with the RemoteAccess BBS system.
  6.  
  7. YAREdit was made for your free use. This is the first version of YAREdit,
  8. and so I am very interested in hearing any suggestions or wishes that you
  9. have for future versions of YAREdit. My hope is to continue to support
  10. YAREdit to make it your dream editor by adding whatever features you
  11. want to see (and that are reasonable). Please see the suggestion form at
  12. the end of this message to forward your suggestions.

  14. The current features of YAREdit are as follows:
  15.  
  16. - YAREdit is designed to closely mimic the appearance of the built-in
  17.   RemoteAccess full screen message viewer.
  18.  
  19. - YAREdit provides the following editing features: insert / overwrite mode,
  20.   navigation keys using cursor keys, home/end, page up/page down, or
  21.   control key equivalents, delete a line, tab.
  22.  
  23. - YAREdit provides sysop DOS shell with memory swapping, split screen
  24.   chat mode, and other sysop function keys and status lines that mimic
  25.   the RemoteAccess sysop interface.
  26.  
  27. - YAREdit is compatible with RemoteAccess 1.x and 2.x, including RA
  28.   2.50.
  29.  
  30. To setup YAREdit for use with your RemoteAccess installation, do the
  31. following:
  32.  
  33. 1. Run RACONFIG.
  34. 2. Choose Options|Messages|External Editor
  35. 3. Set the external editor command line to c:\ra\YAREDIT.EXE *M, where
  36.    c:\ra\ is substituted with the location of the directory where you
  37.    have placed the YAREDIT.EXE file.
