- DESCRIPTION
-
- MakeXDir is a program to be used along with X_List.. MakeXDir
- will generate a file X_LIST.DIR, containing enough information
- for X_List to treat the files as "Being available", though they
- may be missing physically....
-
- When X_List is processing a file area, it will generate an
- internal index of files physically available in the file area.
- This index will be used when running through the FILES.BBS, where
- each file entry will be checked against the internal index, and
- if it is missing, X_List may (depending on the configuration)
- remove the entry from the FILES.BBS, or skip it in the public
- file list..
-
- The MakeXDir program will give you an option to remove some
- files from the one or more fileareas, and still keep these
- entries in the Public List and the FILES.BBS, since X_List will
- treat the information in the X_LIST.DIR file as if the files
- mentioned was available in the Directory....
-
- Since the files are not physically available on the storage
- media, X_List will indicate this by placing a '!' in position 13
- right after the name of the file...
