- When you select mail forums or conferences, Xpress will place a star (*)
- next to the mail conferences. If you see no star, you have no conferences
- selected.
-
- Xpress will now allow you to select some mail conferences.

- Xpress will scan the selected mail conferences and gather all messages
- available to you. During the scanning process, you will see a scan table
- showing all available mail. It will wait for your next command.
-
- Before Xpress sends your mail, it will "COMPRESS" all the available
- messages, a file list and any bulletins the Sysop wishes to include into a
- file called the Xpress Mail Packet. Compression reduces the size of the
- mail packet, sometimes by 38-40 percent!
-
- The compression method with the * next to it is your current method of
- compression. If you wish to change it, type a new method letter.

-
- The final step is sending the actual mail packet to you. Xpress will need
- to know how you would like to do this using a file transfer protocol. They
- are many file transfer protocols. One of the oldest is XMODEM. More recent
- methods, like ZMODEM, are among the more reliable methods of sending you
- mail. We recommend you select ZMODEM if your telecommunication program can
- support it.

- The file transfer method with the * next to it is your current method of
- file transfer. If you wish to change it, type a new method letter.

- You are now ready to begin XPRESSing yourself with the Silver Xpress Mail
- System! You have:
-
- [Yellow]1[White] - [Cyan]selected Mail Conferences to scan for new mail,
- [Yellow]2[White] - [Cyan]selected a compression method to compress all the mail into 1 file,
- [Yellow]3[White] - [Cyan]and you selected a method to send the mail file to your PC.
-
- Now you are ready to begin using Xpress! Xpress has many options. Please
- take the time in the future to explore these powerful options.
-
- Xpress will begin to scan for mail now. When you the scanning is done, you
- will see the [Yellow]Flex[cyan] command prompt. The simplest Flex command is to type [white]GO[cyan]
- to pack up [white]ALL[cyan] the mail and send it to you. But you could type [white]D[cyan] for direct
- mail only or [white]P[cyan] for direct and keywords. When you get the time, study the
- Flex command system.
-
- Enjoy! We hope the Xpress Assistant <tm> was of help to you.
