  3. The WHATS.NEW file will be updated anytime there is a major change
  4. to Rombrain. If you see a version newer than the one you have, and this
  5. file has not been updated, it means the new release is a maintenance
  6. release, with minor cosmetic or bug fixes. You should always have the
  7. most current version of all Brainex Doors!

  16. NOTE to PCBoard version 15 users:
  17. Version 15 uses a different record structure for USERS.SYS, which

  35. You can now use an alternate method to copy files from CD-ROM to

  41. This should copy faster than Rombrain's internal copy routine, but

  47. You may specify an alternate download log file name, just use the
  48. LOG= command. Example:

  50. The caller log file will be written to the MAIN\CALLx file, where x is
  51. the node number. The node number is added by Rombrain. Do not add it!

  145. You can now use this driver with Rombrain and the CD-ROM Jukebox.
  146. Place a copy of CDCHANGE.EXE or XDISC.EXE in the BRAINEX directory.
  147. EDIT the BRAINEX.INI file using an ASCII editor.
  148. Be sure you have a work drive selected in the [ROMBRAIN] section.
  149. Change the drive letters in the [CDROM] section.
  150. Follow the drive letter with a forward slash / then the slot number.

  156. This cd-rom would be displayed as ONLINE, and would use drive D:, slot 3.

  158. You can also set the default cd-rom the same way in the [Rombrain]
  159. section of the BRAINEX.INI file.

  164. Drive D:, slot 1 would be the default drive. It would always come up
  165. as online when the user first enters Rombrain.

  167. IMPORTANT:
  168. Automatic online cd-rom checking is disabled when using the / option. 
  169. Be sure the correct cd-rom is in the correct slot!

  171. MULTINODE OPERATION WITH CD-ROM CHANGERS
  172. It is suggested that you add the WAIT command to the Rombrain command
  173. line. This will prevent other nodes from trying to change the 
  174. cd-rom while a file is being copied to hard disk.

  177. ROMBRAIN NODE=1 WAIT
  178.  
  179. You should use the WAIT command on all nodes.
  180.  
  181. Rombrain will create a file named NOCOPY in the BRAINEX directory.
  182. When present, other nodes must wait until this file is deleted by
  183. the node that is accessing the cd-rom drive. If for some reason
  184. you rebooted the machine before this file is removed, Rombrain
  185. will not be able to copy files. Simply delete this file to restore
  186. normal operation.
