  1. FILE Command U - Upload Files
  2.  
  3. Uploading is the transfer of files from your computer to RBBS-PC.  When you
  4. use the "U" command, RBBS-PC will prompt you for the filename you wish to
  5. upload.  If RBBS-PC finds that the file already exists (even with a
  6. different extension), you will not be able to upload.  This prevents
  7. duplicates from being uploaded.  You will then be asked to select a
  8. protocol if you have not set a default protocol (see the help for the UTIL
  9. command "F" for a discussion of different protocols).

  11. Once RBBS-PC is ready to accept the upload, you should start the transfer
  12. using your communications software.  Check the manual or document file that
  13. came with your communications software for specific information.

  15. After the upload is complete, RBBS-PC may verify the integrity of the file,
  16. and then ask you to describe it so others will know what it is.

  18. UPLOAD GROUND RULES:  All callers are encouraged to upload files on this
  19. system.  Any type of program or document is welcome, however, a few ground
  20. rules are in order.  The files donated must contain only information that
  21. can be shared with others.  Callers who upload files overtly take on the
  22. sole responsibility that, should these files be shared, the rights of
  23. others will not be violated.  The SYSOP is not responsible for any of the
  24. data that is shared on this system.

  26. TIPS:
  27. 1.  You can stack the "U" command with the file name.  That is, you can
  28.     enter "U <filename> directly from the Files Menu.  For example, you
  29.     could type "U RBBS-PC.ZIP" to upload the "RBBS-PC.ZIP" file.

  31. 2.  You can override the default protocol by including it at the end of the
  32.     command line.  For example, "U LIST700.ZIP X" uploads LIST700.ZIP using
  33.     Xmodem no matter what the default protocol is.
