  3. The MONITOR option tailors the visual output to your
  4. computer. Sometimes the choice is yours; other times, your 
  5. computer type dictates the type of graphics you can choose.
  6.  
  7. PowerBBS offers you three graphics choices:
  8.  
  9.      [C]olor, [M]onochrome, or [N]one
  10.  
  11. N)one means that you want only typeable text, like this 
  12. sentence. Menus will display faster since no time is needed to build
  13. graphics on your screen.
  14.  
  15. A)scii: Ascii graphics uses all 255 characters in the IBM 
  16. character set. Most IBM PC compatible systems can properly 
  17. receive ASCII graphics.  Your system supports the IBM PC 
  18. character set if you see characters such as the heart  and
  19. straight line ═══.
  20.  
  21. C)olor: C)olor graphics uses all 255 IBM characters and the 
  22. ANSI screen commands to provide color and sound effects and 
  23. music.  For this to work properly your communications package 
  24. must support ANSI, such as Telix/Qmodem.
  25. Your system supports ANSI screen commands if this 
  26. blinks in green.

  28. You can change your graphics at any time in the future by
  29. typing U at the Main MENU and selecting J.
  30.
