- Modern Technology-Lottery version 1.0 PPE
- for PCBoard v15.0
- 6/10/93 by Fred Barra
-
-
-
- ALL THE STEPS LISTED IN THIS DOCUMENT REGARDING INSTALLATION ASSUME YOU
- HAVE A COPY OF PCBOARD V15.0 (OR ABOVE) ALREADY CONFIGURED AND RUNNING!
-
-
- FILES INCLUDED WITH ARCHIVE: MTLOT10.ZIP
- ----------------------------------------
-
- FILE_ID.DIZ 121 06-10-93 3:43p --> BBS Description (Text)
- LOTTERY.PPE 3038 06-10-93 3:43p --> Lottery PPE (Executable)
- LOTTERY.DOC 4365 06-10-93 3:43p --> Lottery Docs [This File]
- LOTTERY.PPS 3150 06-10-93 3:43p --> Lottery PPS *Source Code*
-
- The FOUR files listed above should be the only ones in this archive. Any
- other files you find within the archive MTLOT10.ZIP have been placed there
- by various bbs Sysops that still don't realize that inside-Zip-comments
- could do more damage then good to their boards!
-
-
- INSTALLATION
- ------------
-
- Unzip the contents of MTLOT10.ZIP into it's own directory. Suggested
- path is -> DRIVE:\PCB\PPE\LOTTERY but you can place it anywhere you
- you would like, just as long as the correct path and PPE names are
- assigned within PCBoard <Next Step>
-
- Adding this program within PCBoard is very simple. Load PCBsetup and
- choose option [B] File Locations Once in this PCBsetup Submenu choose
- (once again) option [B] Configuration files. Scroll down until you see
- -> Name/Loc of Default CMD.LST File : D:\PCB\MAIN\CMD.LST
- Now use the F2 key to edit the CMD.LST file "NOTE that the location shown
- above is the default as supplied by PCBoard" Your location might be
- different you might also have individual CMD.LST files for different
- conferences, the above is assuming you have a standard PCBoard setup.
-
- Next will see a screen resembling the one below, just choose a name/command
- that you would like your callers to access the lottery program with.
- (Recommended choices are either LOTTERY, or GAMBLE) but you may name it
- whatever you want, just be sure that the path pointing to the LOTTERY.PPE
- file is correct <after all PCBoard must find the PPE file in order to
- execute it!>
-
- File Locations
-
- Command Security PPE/MNU File -or- Keystroke Replacement
- ══════════════ ════════ ═══════════════════════════════════════
- 1) LOTTERY 0 D:\PCB\PPE\LOTTERY\LOTTERY.PPE
- 2) GAMBLE 0 D:\PCB\PPE\LOTTERY\LOTTERY.PPE
-
-
- That's about it, if you added the above then Lottery should now be ready
- to run by your callers. Feel free to modify the program to fit your needs,
- a copy of the source code <not much to it> is included for that purpose.
-
-
-
- OTHER OPTIONS
- -------------
-
- You may add the Lottery to another PPE file very simply! Take the
- included source code and paste it on to another PPE, an example is
- a Time Bank PPE, then simply add a command to your BANK PPE so your
- callers could B)uy / L)ottery tickets from within your PPE Time bank.
-
- You may also wish to create a MORE features Sub-menu <use the Submenu
- features of PCBoard v15.0 In this MORE Sub-Menu you could make available
- all the PPE programs you have installed <After placing all the PPE cmds
- in your main menu can get confusing!>. Oh some other recommendations
- to place in your MORE features menu would be ONELINERS [PPE], a QUOTE
- [PPE], a LOTTERY [PPE], etc..
-
- SUPPORT
- -------
-
- Support??? Well NONE IS INCLUDED, but I doubt it you would need it <g>.
- I'm only doing this for fun but if you need to call for some reason my
- phone number is 401-334-2269 <Please call within a decent time> usually
- between 11am and 6pm EST seems to be a best time to find me. This is
- however my voice line so I ask that you call only if you really have to,
- if you just want to call and say hi, that is fine too I guess! In either
- case remember that you are using this sofware at your own risk I will not
- be liable for any, lost time, money, or damages of any type that you could
- encounter when running this software, <which I doubt there is any> but i
- figure I better include this just to remain complete.
-
-
- A big THANK YOU goes out to:
-
- - CDC for creating the BEST BBS software around today!
- As without it this PPE would not exist :-)
- - To ALL the Sysops which have spend endless hours and big money
- on making their systems available for our enjoyment! Same goes
- for shareware programers.
