  11. - Version 1.40 / Release 5.00 / - Beta -
  12.    Some bugs in previous version has been fixed.
  13.    Added a small configuration parameter into KNews. (Yes,
  14.    "KNEWS /CONFIGURE" now works!). However, the graphics you see here
  15.    are not very nice (still under beta remember?). But that'll be
  16.    the skeleton of what would be expanded later.

  18. - Version 1.40 /Release 4.00/-BETA-
  19.         KNews now allows you to specify Hi-ascii codes with the EOARTP
  20.      keyword. (Means you hold the ALT key and press the required
  21.      ASCII value.) Just some cosmetic changes.
  22.         Added the test program KNMenu.EXE which is the shell program
  23.      for KNews. Archive for BETA testers only.

  25. - Version 1.40 /Release 3.00/-
  26.         This release fixes the previous versions of KNews bugs, which
  27.      includes the non-abortable function, missing colours, AVATAR messup
  28.      (Thank goodness this is finally confirmed fixed!), I/O errors.
  29.      Renamed the News.Cfg to KNews.Cfg.
  30.      Added {INCLUDE} feature.
  31.      There may be more, but do keep me informed of them. (Thanks again!)
  32.      Once again, users are reminded not to use back the previous versions
  33.      or releases of KNews, if there are any new keywords added.

  35. - Version 1.40 /Release 2.00/-
  36.         This release is not echoed out, since I'm still doing some
  37.      cosmetic changes to the program.

  39. - Version 1.40 /Release 1.00/ -
  40.         Skipped the previous version numbers. 4 New keywords are added
  41.      to the News.Cfg that allows you more flexibility in specifying the
  42.      path and the extensions of each ASCII, ANSI and AVATAR format news
  43.      file. Some code optimising and restructuring here and there.

  46.         Finally, after hours of storming, the colours macros could be
  47.      added to the topic line. The bug of having too many macros causing
  48.      the detection to 'stall' has also been fixed.

  50.         The options "/EDIT" and "/INSTALL" both requires _EXTERNAL_
  51.      programs, also by Kinetic Soft. You can obtain them from the
  52.      |<.Soft distribution sites. The command line options are now
  53.      not case sensitive! (Phew!)

  55.         Added a new compatability format in colour changing in the
  56.      NEWS.CFG file. Has a more user-friendly outlook, users can either
  57.      use the word-macro or number-macro or BOTH! (Yeah!)

  59.         Also added a self configurable news header (explained in
  60.      detailed later on.) Which allows the user to draw header files of
  61.      his own choice up to 5 lines!

  63.         Finally, this version no longer use the evaluation codes from
  64.      previous versions and releases. CentralNET members who have the
  65.      registration priviledge will have their bbs name marked (CTN XXX)
  66.      where XX stands for the board's node number. Individual codes
  67.      would also be available, and KNews would show you as a individual
  68.      'registered to:' rather than 'supported by:' .

  70. - Version 1.36 /Release 2.00/ -
  71.         New version & release numbering. Release number determines the
  72.      number of UPDATES and maintainences for that particular VERSION.
  73.  
  74.         So you may have multiple releases for a single version, do check
  75.      carefully the version and release numbers. Release numbers varies,
  76.      depending on the number of bug fixes. New features implemented into
  77.      KNews may be major enoungh to be a version upgrade.

  79.         Individual rego codes now available. (For contributing registered
  80.      users only.) Added some colours into the program, making it less dull.
  81.      From this version onwards, there will be 2 levels of registration, one
  82.      by CentralNET, the other by individual users. Removed several
  83.      uncessary codes, making it faster (relatively). KNews now detects the
  84.      presense of Desqview, but still does not support file locking yet.

  86.         The internal editor is scrapped, since an external one will be more
  87.      faster. A Kinetic external editor for KNews would be release in time,
  88.      but for now, stick with your favourite text editor. *Grin*
  89.  
  90.         Command-line options disabled, since there are not much use for
  91.      it anyway. Colour customisation now still available for topics, but
  92.      do refrain from it if you are not using type 1 format. (As the news
  93.      file would not look like it should be.) The 'press any key' prompt
  94.      is now 'press [ESC] to quit'.

  96.         The length of the news now extended, means you now can specify
  97.      MORE colours on one line! (GREAT!)
  98.  
  99. -Version 1.35-
  100.         Source code actually re-structured, added newsfile
  101.      editor.(However only the view fuction works.) Fixed a bug in the
  102.      AVATAR routeins that was missed in version 1.33. Added type 3 news
  103.      format. Improved the colour changing codes. Internal Editor
  104.      implemented, but disabled as it is still unstable.

  108.         Version number skipped.

  110. -Version 1.33-
  111.         Some speed improvements in this version, macros of
  112.     PCboard and Openlink are incoporated, do report any errors.

  114. -Version 1.32(BETA)-
  115.         The headers and text colours are finally
  116.     changable. Enabled "STOPLN" Keyword. KNews now incorporates the
  117.     KNews Installation file (available seperately) when ran with
  118.     '/INSTALL' parameter.

  121.         This version has incoporated a display bug fixup in
  122.     v1.30, a new news header has been added (NWTYPE 2), do try it out.
  123.     Some cosmetic touch ups.

  126.         A quick fixup of the bugs of v1.28 released
  127.     previously. No new functions are added at the time being.

  130.         (Version not released) is a small maintainence,
  131.     now it includes the 'STOPLN' (Discussed later in the docs),
  132.     which allows you to specify how many articles to 'lock'; to prevent
  133.     users from skipping it.

  137.         Finally! After months and weeks of brain torture,
  138.     I've come out with a code to enable AVATAR capabilities in this
  139.     miserable news generator. Whats more, you can now specify colour
  140.     macros directly in the News.Txt instead of the News.Cfg!
