  3. Repacking
  4. ---------

  6. Repacking is now fully implemented. You need to have a copy of Robert K. 
  7. Jungs's "REARJ" (V2.24 or later) to use it. Get a most recent copy of ARJ 
  8. from a bulletin board system. You may as well already have it.
  9.  
  10. It is also possible to use any other type of repacker, just enter the
  11. correct name and command line parameters in HERALD.CFG accompanied by
  12. all errorlevels and a short description.
  13.  
  14. Put "REARJ.EXE" and "REARJ.CFG" in a directory where you DOS path points
  15. to. You should use the "REARJ.CFG"-file I have supplied. It has been edited
  16. to allow repacking of *.LHA (Amiga-LHARC) files and archives of the new
  17. squeeze packer (*.SQZ), too. Also - at least for ARJ - a critical error
  18. handler is installed (ARJ command line option "-&") which prevents your
  19. system of hanging.

  21. Also it has been set up to call MacAfee's SCAN, thus every new upload will
  22. be repacked to your favourite archive type and scanned internally for 
  23. viruses.

  25. When such a repacking fails (pack or unpack errors, viruses detected),
  26. the archive will be moved to the trashpath where you can check what has
  27. happened. Archives with unkown extensions will be left alone (e.g. *.JPG).

  29. Take care when using a different repacker, because if an unkown errorlevel
  30. comes up the file will be trashed, too - even if it is an "okay" message!
  31. Read HERALD.DOC prior to changing anything.

  35. There is a demo config for ZZAP in the REPACK directory. If you use a differ-
  36. ent repacker, I'd be delighted if you could send it to me. I will distribute
  37. it with Herald and at least your name will be in lights :-))
