  7.     We exist to serve God, glorify Him and delight in Him.  We exist to
  8. provide fellowship among believers and witness to non-believers.  We
  9. exist to discuss Christian and Jewish theology and world views on a
  10. mature level.  Our historical scope is that of classical and
  11. philosophical apologetics, theology, counselling, teaching, ministry to
  12. the cults and occult, assisting researchers, pastors, educators and
  13. others with these matters, and exchange information on these issues.  We
  14. are also interested in current events, international affairs and world
  15. cultures, the United States of America, Israel, captive nations, and
  16. human rights in a serious way.  This is a family network.

  18.     We wish to link Christians together, as well as provide reliable
  19. information of concern to believers, researchers and others.  Those
  20. interested in current events and international affairs, particularly
  21. CIS/Europe, the Middle East and Israel will find FINET of special
  22. interest.

  24.     We gladly will cross-link Christian networks or feed them ONLY IF
  25. they permit it.  One goal is to encourage and make it easier for
  26. believers to talk and work with each other; we need not only chit-chat,
  27. we can work with one another.  Another goal is to provide a forum for
  28. responsible exchange of ideas and world views. Other goals include
  29. making it easier for SysOps to participate with such fine networks as
  30. MJCN, which are difficult for many to implement technically, and
  31. generally assist and encourage new Christian and Messianic sysops and
  32. bulletin boards. We offer to provide communications for the
  33. administrative email and efile needs of apologetics ministries and
  34. linking others to share information jointly in their work. There are
  35. some small networks, some with only a few conferences, which are
  36. difficult for many to locate or implement. In time, we hope to help
  37. bring these together so that callers can readily participate and SysOps
  38. interface with these.

  40.     The nature of some local boards as Freedom Infonet is such that very
  41. thoughtful messages are often posted but do not get shared with
  42. "networks"; this is an opportunity to share these messages.  Freedom
  43. Infonet has many long distance callers.  Having local access nodes has
  44. been requested for some time to make it easier for callers to stay in
  45. touch.  We now have the technical means in place to offer this
  46. capability.

  48.     FINET is a source of encouragement to help small boards grow or
  49. start. We started, in fact, largely helping other sysops start up, set
  50. up and maintain their boards, and offering resources not easily found
  51. elsewhere.  We also offer apologetics and resource information, as well
  52. as discuss Israel in a responsible, informed manner without flames
  53. breaking out. This is an opportunity for boards electronically local to
  54. Freedom Infonet to share resources--not only messages, but expertise
  55. as well. We are not another "me too" network and do not compete with
  56. other Christian networks.  We are here to complement them.  We try to
  57. assist new sysops where possible, as well as provide RBBS support.

  59.     Some networks are not apologetics oriented, or cannot discuss cults
  60. or the occult in detail, except in the macrocosm.  Since I have a
  61. ministry in this area, I welcome such exchange of information here.
  62. Several boards have asked Freedom Infonet RBBS to share its interesting
  63. and unique conference(s), we offer these as FINET.  We offer RBBS
  64. support for sysops as well.

  66.     We offer MJCN, the Messianic Jewish Computer Network, for which a
  67. special burden exists in my heart to assist them, and other resources
  68. as they become available. Perhaps the most valuable resource we can
  69. share is each other and the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
