  1.                  How to test FdMsg Version 2.00 and higher

  3. Hi FdMsg user:
  4.  
  5. To test the echomail part of Fdmsg the following setup will send a 
  6. echomail message to me in a area called FDMSG_BETA
  7.  
  8. 1. You must make a Echo area/tag named FDMSG_BETA
  9. 2. Have 1:147/48 as the uplink
  10. 3. Also add the address that has your Zone:Net/9999 but have it
  11.    set so that it only receives NOT SEND echos.  --See Doc--.
  12. 4. No other connections unless your tosser requires you to have your 
  13.    address as a connection.

  15. In this ZIP I have a file called FDMSGBTS.CFG:
  16.    This is the configuration file you should use for testing.
  17.    You will need to make some changes to it.  These can be done manually
  18.    or you can use the new program FdCfg.
  19.    1.  The Address line needs to be changed to your address.
  20.    2.  The From line needs your Zone:Net with a node of 9999 (See Docs)
  21.    3.  NameFrom line change to your name.
  22.    4.  Text line make sure you have the correct path to FDBETA.DOC
  23.    4.  Change the Origin line to whatever you like.

  25.    This configuration will cause a test message to be sent to me each Sat
  26.    morning and since the telephone rates are cheaper then that should help.
  27.    When you connect with my system you will get a copy of all the test 
  28.    messages fron the other beta sites.  Of course that is if they have sent
  29.    them in when you call.  Otherwise you will get them the next time you send
  30.    a test message.

  32.    If you have problems/questions/request then place them in the FDMSG_BETA
  33.    echo and then all will see it and my answers will be seen by all.

  35. You will also find a file called FDECHO.DOC.
  36.    This file is the Text message that will be sent each week.  Notice
  37.    the parameters (keywords within %).  This is a feature and will
  38.    fill in the required information when sent.  This will be used more 
  39.    with NetMail, I think.

  41. The above configuation file and text file are a idea on what you can
  42. use to test with.  You can use any configuration file layout you like.
  43. JUST remember to use echo FDMSG_BETA so all can see the testing.
