  4. Because this is a Public Beta, there isn't a well written document, but there
  5. will be I promise.
  6. For more information about EchoGate ability and what it is, refer to SETUP.EG,
  7. there is a brief instruction for each option.

  11. To use EchoGate you need to define an environment variable.
  12. Execute the DOS command SET ECHOGATE=<Path> so EchoGate can find its
  13. data files.
  14. If you don't specify this environment, EchoGate will look for it's files
  15. on the directory from where is was executed.
  16.  
  17. EchoGate was meant to be executed by your mail tosser. In order to do this
  18. you have to install EchoGate as an Archive program. There are two ways
  19. to do this:
  20. 1) In tossers that use only one line to define an archive command (like Fmail):
  21.  
  22.    Add the following command in-front of your archives command:
  23.       ECHOGATE.EXE <C|D> <The rest of the line>
  24.  
  25. 2) In tossers that use two parts to define an archive command (like Gecho):
  26.  
  27.    Replace each archive command with ECHOGATE.EXE.
  28.    Copy each archive command to the command line part,
  29.    and add in-front of them <C|D> .

  32. Follow each of these two steps with all of your archives types.

  34. ECHOGATE.EXE C means compressions.
  35. ECHOGATE.EXE D means de-compressions.
