  1. What is new in BIRTH_RA 2.01? Not much!
  2.  
  3.         * Fixed the DATE format problem. I was mistaken to assume that RA
  4.           stores the date in the user record in the same format the
  5.           user chooses when they first logon.. it is in the MM-DD-YY format
  6.           regardless of what date format the user chooses. So.. Now the program
  7.           reads the birthdate correctly if you use other date formats!
  8.               (United States Sysops will not notice this problem..)
  9.  
  10.         + Adds an ANSI code for CLEAR DISPLAY at the beginning of the ANSI
  11.           display. I have noticed that RIPterm does not always clear screen
  12.           with an RA clear screen code.. This might help! :)

  14. What is new in BIRTH_RA 2.0???   Plenty!!
  15.  
  16.         + BIRTH_RA will now POST a message to a user on his/her birthday! If
  17.           you are upgrading from version 1.20, you must include the following
  18.           lines in your configurtion file (BIRTH_RA.CFG):

  21. SYSOP_NAME=Fozzy Bear      <- Name of the Sysop
  22. DO_GREETINGS=Y             <- Whether to post Birthday Greetings <Y>es or <N>o
  23. GREET_FILE=C:\RA\HAPPY.TXT <- The name of the TEXTFILE containing the Greeting
  24. MESSAGE_PATH=C:\RA\MSGBASE <- The PATH to the Hudson Message Base Files
  25. GREETING_BOARD=1           <- The HUDSON Board Number to post the Greeting

  27.           The message posted will be PRIVATE and LOCAL.

  30.         + BIRTH_RA also creates a DAILY Listing of Birthdays in addition to the
  31.           MONTHLY list and COMPLETE Listing! You need to include the following
  32.           line in the BIRTH_RA.CFG file to utilize this function:

  34. DAILY_LIST=c:\dailybir     <- The path\filename of the DAILY LISTING!
  35.

  37.         + BIRTH_RA now can handle MULTIPLE CONFIGURATION FILES!
  38.           The syntax is:
  39.  
  40.                 BIRTH_RA <configuration file name>
  41.            i.e. BIRTH_RA FOZZY.CFG
  42.  
  43.           If you run BIRTH_RA without a configuration file name, the program
  44.           will search for "BIRTH_RA.CFG" in the current directory as before.
  45.           The above example will search for "FOZZY.CFG".
  46.  
  47.         + BIRTH_RA has Multiple Pre-Set Color schemes when creating your
  48.           configuration file. The Schemes are Default, Spring, Summer, Fall,
  49.           and Winter. You can still design your own schemes as before.
  50.  
  51.         * The program will now generate an ALPHABETIZED Total Birthday Listing.
  52.           The previous version merely listed the users in order of appearance
  53.           in the USERS.BBS file. This would allow users to see the "relative"
  54.           security settings between users.. I thought I could do better.. so
  55.           I did.

  57.         * The BIRTHDAY listings are now reformatted with centering of the
  58.           listing on the screen.. Looks better to me as well! :)

  60.         + The program now has an "UNREGISTERED EVALUATION COPY" in the heading
  61.           of each birthday listing to encourage REGISTRATION of this fine
  62.           product. ;) After registration, you will receive a key via netmail
  63.           to remove this line and replace it with a "REGISTERED TO: <system
  64.           name>"

  69.         + Expanded choice of colors from 15 forground colors to
  70.           128 foreground/background color combinations!
